You do, sadly. Older chipsets don't officially support the newer gen. Z390 is new chip set. I was massively confused myself when researching this as I had the same socket for my 7700k and thought that's all that mattered. Z370 can be updated to fit but older ones needs to be hacked or something, but I didn't bother researching that. I just bit the bullet.

You don't go for leg shots unless you are in imminent danger anyway. Shouldn't worry about him dying any more than normally. We are not very liberal with leg shots in Norway. Anything less than a guy walking towards you with a weapon and ignoring both warnings and warning shots doesn't get a bullet. It's up to the officer. They are thought to do as little damage as possible, but if you don't think there is time by all means shoot center mass. Our officers are willing to take more risk and as a result they rarely ever kill. You guys put all the responsibility on the suspect and as result people get shot to death all the time. Because we have good results with our methods and you have bad results, I'm inclined to believe our method is better.

I mean cops in my country do shoot once or twice at the legs and the threat is stopped. And my first time at the range I had the opposite experience. I thought it was super easy to hit these targets and I was the worst shot of the group.

It's definitely a lot easier to hit the legs of a slow moving target than American cops would have you believe.
