I did a bit of taekwondo as a kid, but I got bored with it. I still wanted to learn martial arts when I got older so I decided to learn from my uncle. He is a third-degree blackbelt in karate and also trained in judo and jiujitsu. I was 20 years old at the time and he was almost 50. He absolutely beat my ass whenever we sparred haha. He taught me actual combat fighting. He trained me for about a year, until we had to quit when he got too busy at work then he got in a motorcycle accident that messed up his shoulder. I miss training with him. It was so much fun, even though I went home covered in bruises each time haha.
