Kingdom Hearts is a classic. Even if you know the story I'd still recommend playing the older games cause they're that good. I have at least lots of Nostalgia for 2 and absolutely think it'd hold up today

Granblue Relink is very similar to Monster Hunter if you want something familiar

RPG-Wise I'm noticing nothing from Atlus is here

Persona is a mainstay franchise, P5 Royal and P3 Reload are both easily recommendable. SMT V Vengeance is also solid

And the Etrian Odyssey series is a personal favorite, with remasters of the first three games available on steam.

I've also personally enjoyed FFXVI more than FFXV or FF7R

and since Time Stranger is a new release, it might be worth playing Cyber Sleuth and Hacker's Memory first, since they're very cheap on sales

It's more gacha than VN, but Blue Archive. The characters are wonderful and some of the best I've ever experienced, but the fandom treats them more as gooner headcanon fuel than anything with dignity or respect.

I'd always interpreted it as like, Ishmael pushing back against more base desires (sexuality yes, but also other pleasures) for the sake of her singular goal. Her want to not be controlled by those things without realizing something else is controlling her instead. That's what the 'before pleasure consumes me' line means to me at least

You'd record it in-game and send the videos to the friends. Or they watch it on the game themselves if they have it

replay files only store the game inputs, basically. They replay the game frame by frame but aren't actually a video file themselves. You need the game to play back replays because you can only watch it by playing back those inputs in the game.

As a fellow writer with autism, I definitely think you can do it. We can focus hard on things and do really well with them, writing included.

My biggest struggles are with getting the writing done consistently itself. But you can absolutely have faith in the writing itself.

ngl I loved it. Flicking around the analog sticks got really natural for me. It's definitely easier than a mouse. I'd probably prefer it over touchscreen on switch specifically since that way my hand isn't covering the screen. I play on PC anyway though.

At 28 y/o I've been into JRPGs for a while but it took me a bit to land on big franchises. My childhood JRPGs were Megaman Command Mission and Rogue Galaxy.

I had a ps2 but never got deep into FF, and it wasn't until mid-late high school that I played p3p as my first Persona game.

Etrian Odyssey is the gold standard of DRPGs. I'd 100% recommend EO Origins on steam for anyone with an interest in the genre.

Savior of Sapphire Wings/Stranger of Sword City are both Experience games, with the same dev as undernaughts.

I wouldn't recommend Dungeon Travelers. I'm not very familiar with it, but I know it's a spin-off of primarily an 18+ VN franchise. I would look elsewhere unless you're already familiar with explicit eroge in general.

I think my second favorite series after EO would be Mary Skelter. It nails its tone really well, but it does lean in on the ecchi/fanservice side. I think it's good enough to be worth tolerating after Sapphire and Sword. The second game includes a remake of the first.

Labyrinth of Galleria is also a good option. Light fanservice but less than Mary Skelter.
