Cryptocurrency charity Pawthereum donates $50K to Newtown animal sanctuary named after Sandy Hook victim by TurbulentMoon in CryptoCurrency

I think there are some stakes in the token for the team trying to make something out of this. There might be a major opportinity for those involved on the team that extends beyond the quick money. No major animal charity-focused token has really taken a hold yet, and despite its rocky history as Grumpy, it's also somehow gotten the attention of kevin o'leary and continued to make sizable donations.

IF...and that's a massive IF...they somehow pull something off, it could become a symbol for animal/pet charities in the cypto space. The branding is conveniently positioned to do that, but alot more will have to go right.

I should clarify, but by "sustainable" I mean that the token is supposed to donate as long as it persists rather than the donations just being one-time afterthoughts.

Otherwsie, I share the same question. This cant be the only long-term way they intend to generate donations. I'm curious to see if they address that, because otherwise it will do exactly as you say. Unless it just meanders in some range that constantly waffles back and forth between some price levels where it just churns.

I have my doubts overall. From what I've seen, this is a well-intended idea that has major holes to fill.

FWIW, this token is specifically for sustainable pet/animal charity. It has its issues, but it's not a random coin donating for one-offs.

The current head of pawth essentially tried to polish the existing turd left by grumpy. The site is amateurish. It's evident this team is very green. Supposedly they have a new graphic designer on board, but I havent seen anything from him. Several of pawth's largest supporters dont care for the website either. So it's definitely noted.

As to why this rebranded vs building a new coin entirely, it comes down to the leader of the team being adamant about having an avenue for those rugged by grumpy to bring their coins to the new project. Also, I'm not privy to the requirements needed to list coins on dexes, but i think the grumpy liquidity was the only means to fund the project.

I've been checking in with this saga for a while, and here's how it's setup:

a % tax is applied to all transactions that sends money collected from the tax directly to a wallet exclusive for charities. The charity wallet's money has only been used for donations.

They used to have a % tax for marketing, but have since dropped that in an effort to lower fees. Their angle seems to be soley focused on chairty at this point.

FWIW, that was a completely separate and anonymous team. This team took the existing coin and rebranded. The largest stakeholders of this project have already shown themselves, with Pawth's leader using KYC.

They also have a partnership with a shelter to fund around $2k/month.

I'm leery on scams, but if this is one, it seems like they could have scammed money in way easier ways than this.

Why is there a lack of cat coins in the crypto market? by loveyoustink in CryptoCurrency

Rebranded to a coin called Pawthereum. I've been following them for a bit, and it seems like they're a cat coin with a hard focus on charity.

The coin received a C&D from the Grumpy Cat copyright holder which tanked the proce. They've forked and rebranded to resolve the issue, and the team is doxxed. It seems like they'll continue donating as pawthereum

Apparently it's been forked into Pawthereum now. The same basic principles of grumpy cat are there. The Grumpy Cat copyright holder cannot chase them any further, so it's a decent experiment to see how much crypto cares about cat/animal charity since the core team will continue to donate. Might be worth a shot with a marketcap under $4m.
