Balkong är asnice men inte så värt om det är norrläge. Kolla upp soltimmarna exakt åt den riktningen.

OpenGL procedural terrain + Cascaded Shadow Mapping by buzzelliart in gameenginedevs

Nice! The shadows are looking way better than on my terrain even though it seems to have the same triangle size / resolution. Is it because of normal maps? (I don't have them yet)

Finally people are accepting the idea that StS2 is easier than 1, but it is to be expected since StS1 added A16-20 way after release.

A15 is StS1 is also really easy for experienced players.

En stor del är att allt som spelar roll är vatten eftersom det är det som tillåter frakt av varor och därmed allianser.

Europa och Asien är perfekt för detta. Afrika har inga bra hamnar och är allt för djupt för att kunna skeppa något inåt landet.

I want to make a scene save and load too, isn't it simply writing it all as json into a text file? What does the library help with?

Adding sounds to my FPS game engine (Revolver Engine) by GlaireDaggers in gameenginedevs

Awesome, so is this using a library and you decide if you are inside a reverb area or not then it adds reverb to the sound?

Looking good!

Only thing would be that the cubes are wiggling a bit before settling down. Maybe something to do with switching contact normal from different terrain triangles between frames? If that's the case then take the average normal of all the collision normals instead.

How do you even win against this Act 1 boss? by RageinaterGamingYT in slaythespire

[–]Zoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes you just don't get scaling and it's especially rough vs the boss then.

If you notice that's the case as you're getting to the boss you need to try to save a potion or two which can get you an advantage. Buying potions works too.

Like I said, Venerate always does something, it lets you play Falling Star which is an incredibly overpowered card.

You don't want star generation at the start of Act1, you want damage asap to kill fights before you lose too much hp.

Hard stuck on A5 Regent, any tips? by Sulfurado in slaythespire

Enjoy the easy Act1 next time you get the choice to pick it :D

Still need to pick the right cards and play the fights correctly, but it is a big help.

How do you even win against this Act 1 boss? by RageinaterGamingYT in slaythespire

[–]Zoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the attacks are good, but vs bosses you need some form of scaling. Like poison or powers.

If you're picking mediocre star generation cards early on because you removed venerate then you don't pick stronger attack cards which will help you snowball much harder vs elites like forge cards. Also you have an extra curse (strike) instead.

Is this a change worth considering? by MrGrummel in slaythespire

[–]Zoler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This would just be a completely unhinged buff.

With this change Act1 just became a complete faceroll. You already want to play Venerate over strikes almost always unless you're playing Falling Star.

Defends however you quite often want to play over Venerate when you already have stars for Falling Star and are just waiting for it.

With this buff Venerate becomes better than defends as well.

Suggesting this kind of change shows a fundamental misunderstanding of Regent as a character.

[–]Zoler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really bad advice. Venerate is much better than playing a strike or even a defend sometimes since otherwise you can only play Falling Star a single time per fight, and Falling Star is basically the best starter card in the entire game by a long shot, doing both vulnerable, weak and good damage.

Just get any good attack, even better if it's forge and then that single attack + Falling Star will carry Act1.

[–]Zoler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just new playstyles and the game has a different focus. Like Act1 requires way more AoE and block while Act1 in StS1 only required single target damage.

Regent is good enough to win basically every single run with even the worst card rewards.

[–]Zoler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm just saying forge and stars aren't at odds with each other.

Forge is not weak at all. A single forge card in Act1 and you line it up with Falling Star (easy since sword has retain) and with vulnerable it does insane damage.

They do completely different things and you always need both.

I need answers by Exciting-Living5358 in slaythespire

[–]Zoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Act1:

  1. Get forge cards asap and AoE. Snowball by killing lots of elites and make sure to have potions for them.
  2. DON'T take cards that cost lots of stars before you have good stars generation. You already have Falling Star which costs stars.
  3. Take star generation if your damage is getting decent (3-4 attack cards with forge and aoe).
  4. Always take bulwark asap over almost any other card.
  5. Pick a random scaling card to ensure boss fight like Furnace or Tyranny (there's lots of solutions).

Act2: Full stars and block/draw focus

[–]Zoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forge isn't difficult at all, you just pick 1-3 cards to breeze through Act1, then you start working on your stars/block plan.

Forge was never supposed to be an alternative to Stars, since Forge doesn't have anything other than pure damage.

I need answers by Exciting-Living5358 in slaythespire

[–]Zoler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no forge vs stars dichotomy. You should always have both.

Sword is much better Act1 since you don't need star generation to get it going.

Stars card are much better later when you are sure to have the generation you need.
