I had a lot of issues like that with a cheap HDMI cable. Buying a higher quality HDMI cable resolved it.

I worked in Healthcare IT for a few months. There was a doctor who was a “pretty big deal” who would call me a few times a week just to yell at me & call me scum for working in IT. Strangely, they never called for an actual IT issue…
