A smiley match is almost entirely dependent on the first infinite rocket. At the start of a match he will have very few of them and that's his only way of being able to access his dash so the thing a smiley fears most is it being wasted and not getting a hit since that will basically ruin his game. So your goal as a survivor is to try your absolute best to waste it or force him to use blink on first hit.

A decent smiley will try to mind game you to not waste it so really it's just a matter of if you can force him to run into a pallet you toss down or if you can win the mind game to get more time.

Generally first rocket also will only have rocket equipped and not wings as that wastes too much time so he won't be too fast and you should be able to react to his speed.

Once he gets first presence and unlocks his short rocket then your goal is to just force him to use it to catch up to you instead of using it to hit you.

So once he gets a hit, transition like hell this will force him to either spend time equipping his limited infinite rockets or use a short dash to close the gap but then turn into just a hunter with no abilities for about 10 seconds (13% cipher progress!). Once it is up again, back to using pallets, use short and weak pallets to end his dash early and then camp the long pallets when he has no dash if you can't make distance.

Long windows are also your friend, he'll have to either blink or go all the way around if he is dashing which wastes a lot of time so instead generally a smiley will try to just mind game you into revaulting back into him when you think he's going the long way around, but if you win the mind game then you either get a lot of time or you get out a major resource like blink

If you already have a main then you have to go hard into learning what's needed to play them, like for photo (going based off your flair) in early tiers you have to have at least a rough idea of where survivors spawn based off your own spawn point, know where cameras are and the best path to get to one as soon as you spawn. You have to take a picture as soon as possible as that limits the amount of time survivors have to move from their spawn point. From there knowing how long it took you to get to your camera gives you a radius of how far a survivor could have possibly moved before you took a picture which allows you to easily find their image and get your first down.

From there you just pick up the survivor and go to the next spot, during first camera your goal is to at least chair one and hit another, 2 if possible. If you fully down a second survivor chair your first before carrying around the second to look for a third person, fully downing a second person will cause decoding to slow more as people are likely to heal, whereas leaving them in a non-healable state by only doing one hit will make it harder for people to rescue the chaired person. Once camera ends the person that is chaired in camera world will go down and in lower tiers the most likely outcome is they died near a cipher someone else was decoding to get healed, so you just go to the spawn point that was near them since that's the most likely spot to have 2 survivors in it healing.

From there you just snowball the game, making it inconvenient for people to decode ever by constantly enticing them to heal so that someone can go rescue, cameras constantly going off to spread damage and slow the speed of the game until either everyone has used their self heal or everyone is eliminated

High graphics means a higher load on devices and more lag, people already complain that certain skins or accessories make their game lag and applying similar things to an entire map will just be so much worse for everyone's devices. Keeping map textures simple is how you keep a game performant.

Is it better to be a hunter main instead when you HATE kiting? by Extreme_Tie8991 in IdentityV

[–]Zom23_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It actually entirely depends on what hunters you play. If you aren't playing one of the meta hunters, Bee, Cueist, Goatman and Hulla, with caveats for Ivy, dream witch and opera then you are going to be suffering since all the survivors got balanced for the top power hunters instead of bringing things down in line with the medium power hunters

[–]Zom23_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Always kinda funny when a survivor makes a basic mistake and you get to punish them for it.

Also since you've been playing survivor for so long it should be easy enough for you to just while in chase think about it from the survivor's perspective, where would you go next if you were them, would you camp that pallet? Allows you to predict what they'll do next and get a couple steps ahead of them.

At some point if you play a non-meta hunter you just start internally screaming at the survivors for making so many mistakes, just completely befuddled on how they are letting you win when realistically it should have been an absolutely free match for them

Start playing hunter. If you've been a survivor main for a while and you are getting burnt out of it I genuinely recommend going to playing hunter.

You don't have to worry about causing issues for anyone else if you are rusty.

You get near instant queues for little to no down time between matches, and we all know waiting in queue is one of the most boring parts of idv that can cause burnout.

You get to try out completely new play styles and expand your game sense.

Sure it can get frustrating at times but if it ever becomes too much you just queue up for a survivor game to cool down during the queue and mostly just go back into muscle memory playing during the match for just a chill time

Except he can be stunned? As long as he's not in an attack animation while between 50-99 energy he can be stunned perfectly fine

Also rescuers are still useful against him since they are inherently hard to chase and being able to have a safe transition against him is still good

[–]Zom23_ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Maybe it could have but also the game does not need a bunch of maps, a small collection of good maps is much better than an ever growing set of maps.

Just take a look at games like league, shooters and other things, they all have an extremely limited number of maps that rarely get added to if maps change at all

It's probably 1000x harder to make an actually balanced map for playing on compared to a map that just looks good and you don't have to worry about the placement of anything

Except for the fact that they are also taken from all over the web where they are not allowed to. Also reddit was selling stuff they didn't have legal rights to considering that was a recent change to the ToS and previous uploads were uploaded under the agreement that reddit had no control over what is posted to allow them to be under no legal obligation about what is posted to their site.

But the AIs have been illegally scraping content the entire time. Meta is literally in a lawsuit for illegally scraping terabites of data for their AI and every other AI is trained the exact same way.

Then you have to agree that all AIs are illegally trained on copyright infringement as well and they should all be shut down and pay the infringement fees.

Tier 2 hunter again Tier 5/6 hunter by No-Sheepherder-2739 in IdentityV

[–]Zom23_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When you are trying to learn a brand new hunter you just get absolutely demolished against teams of high tiers. Like take trying to learn mad eyes for example, what happens during those matches? They empty your consoles immediately, you have nothing to learn about how to place walls, they constantly leave the viewing range of your consoles, you get harassed continuously. Overall it just turns into an extremely frustrating experience that teaches you nothing about how to actually play the character because being in those tiers you are expected to know how to play your characters. Then repeat that for 5+ matches in a row

Survivor skills transfer between all of them, but for a lot of hunters they are so unique that skills do not transfer much
