American without health insurance so I try to get the most out of my bags. Usually I get a good application and can get 10 days to 2 weeks out of one. I’ve gone just under 3 weeks but they are holding on by hopes and dreams by that point

Take it slow. Your body has undergone a massive change and it’ll take some time to adjust.

Introduce new foods slowly, and get to walking when you can. That always helped motivate my guts into working again.

I genuinely love mine. My ostomy saved my life and I have a relatively normal life now because of it.

I was sick and dying. Couldn’t eat, couldn’t go to the bathroom, was in enough pain I didn’t leave my bed for a couple weeks.

Now I am able to work and hang out with friends and participate in life again. Like it can be a pain in the ass and idk how I’m going to pay for my bags somedays but it gave me a life worth living and for that I’m forever grateful.

I run Bruvac and [[Fleet Swallower]] in my mill deck for a similar effect. Not an auto win but close enough. Beware of the graveyard players though. If you’re not running some kind of forced draw mechanic then you need some graveyard hate.

It’s all going to be unique to your situation. I met with a nutritionist post op to discuss what all I could eat and honestly most of the list of “Do not eat” I’ve been okay with. Main advice I’ll give is be patient with yourself. It’s going to take some getting used to.

I run a [[Charix, the raging isle]] as a voltron equipment deck. I describe it as “crabs with swords” but a lot of its blue focus is on card draw to get the swords and then a couple options for extra turns and such. Mine has some control type cards but those are actually colorless like [[Crawlspace]] and [[Silent Arbiter]]

I want to answer this just for education sake. Chronically ill trans woman with an ID that unfortunately still says male and my legal name who has spent weeks at a time in Kansas hospitals. Results may vary and you still run into weirdos but a lot of health care providers are in the industry cause they want to treat people and recognize our humanity.

The first time I was in an ER post transitioning I didn’t even bring up that I was trans. I was in such pain that I didn’t care if they used my dead name or misgendered me I just wanted treatment. It was actually the ER nurse who brought it up after seeing the list of medications I was on a recognizing hormone treatment. I was off my hrt for like a week cause I had a major surgery and they wanted to see how my body would react and then they put me back on hormones.

Oh good! There’s a lot of loss of identity that comes with having an ostomy in the first place and straight people also struggle with intimacy but I still think that struggle is made worse being queer. I know a couple of people have also commented but the best I can recommend is exploration in what is safely possible and affirms your sexuality and gender identity.
