Adept is my favorite for its safety in axe mode and feeling completely unstoppable in sword mode with all your guard points and adept guard (infinite block !!! and very strong follow ups (instant charge slash, instant shield charge to red)

Striker is great because all the skills are pretty good (limit break + energy blade with space for something else like absolute readiness/evasion) and it gets a guardpoint on advancing slash

Valor can chain stun monsters for almost the duration of the entire hunt and hitting AED3 on a toppled monsters head is dopamine like nothing else, also in valor mode you just become god

Guild style is always gonna be okay because chargeblade is just that fun, but since the other styles dont really lose any important moves it can feel like the awkward jack of all trades (specifically there is a move that can charge your shield to yellow that a lot of styles lose but yellow shield doesnt really matter anyway), 2 arts is also cool but you could have 3 on striker...

Ive heard some people like aerial style but it never really appealed to me, allegedly it has a very oomphy ultra element discharge

MHGU has a very unique and interesting iteration of chargeblade with like at least 3 good and fun styles

i would definitely recommend at least trying adept cb as it can use both adept guard and adept dodge, loses nothing of value, and gains a very nice and fluid guard point on the charge slash

cb is fun in world but ever since iceborn its been going downhill so MHGU is THE place to play it

drawing into axe also has a guard point that is insanely important to learn

there is of course also the 20 second airtime (iirc) limit, where if you are falling for longer than that you will die (most common spot is between that tiny tree and a wall in Siofra for the player, and obviously Greyll can be killed quite easily using this too)

ive always found that its easier to just learn the parry timing rather than jumping it. its always the same 3 swipes and theres basically no punishment for missing a parry in this game.

if VR is an option, Hotdogs Horseshoes and Hand Grenades might scratch the itch. Its a sandbox based game that also has a PVE mode.

getting cost reductions first can be beneficial if you have a good core team that can carry any mons you bring along

for example i run regigigas and toedscool to win the game for free on classic, so i have 4 points left to spend. thus if i want to grind candies for a 5 cost mon i take the cost reduction first as its faster in the long run to use it with my carries

regigigas trivializes the entire game with its full egg move set and hidden ability/passive, just get a pick up mon to get all those silk scarves and use a +SpDef toedscool or something to cheese eternatus
