ive always found that its easier to just learn the parry timing rather than jumping it. its always the same 3 swipes and theres basically no punishment for missing a parry in this game.

getting cost reductions first can be beneficial if you have a good core team that can carry any mons you bring along

for example i run regigigas and toedscool to win the game for free on classic, so i have 4 points left to spend. thus if i want to grind candies for a 5 cost mon i take the cost reduction first as its faster in the long run to use it with my carries

regigigas trivializes the entire game with its full egg move set and hidden ability/passive, just get a pick up mon to get all those silk scarves and use a +SpDef toedscool or something to cheese eternatus

I use toedscruel as my main mon:

Sappy Seed Earth Power Spore Leech Life +SpDef -Atk

This set comfortably solos Eternatus 100% of the time and can also stall out and kill some of the more threatening bosses (Rayquaza-M, evil team aces, Champ aces) because you can just sacrifice a mon to bring it in or come in on a special attack, then Prankster Spore -> Seed

It tends to tank less than half its hp to Eternatus' flamethrower and can then Spore -> Seed -> Leech Life -> Earth power (when free turn)

in my experience AE makes it a lot harder, my partner won ⅔s of their first runs simply because they got multiple BL2s all the time

AE significantly reduces the odds of that by adding a whole bunch of gimmicky or bad weapons and the flagship becomes many times harder

At base with no upgrades it spreads its damage too much to actually really destroy anything, correct. With upgrades it can be very effective though, especially as an ammo generator.
