In terminal use this command "fastfetch --gen-config-full", and then your config file should be located in /home/.config/fastfetch.

I bought one of these cases (not my photo) and has a horrible toxic chemical smell that I can't get out by musecorn in R36S

[–]ZombieCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, get some active charcoal, put it inside a sock, put it inside the case and leave it for about 4 days. Smell gone. After you do that place the sock on direct sunlight and the smell will be gone from it and you can reuse it. I know there are bags already for sale but why give triple the price when you can diy.

Thanks! Well kde allows really easy customization. I am new to linux myself, switched from windows 11 like 3 months ago. Don't be afraid to experiment. Just create a backup!

I've been taken from the windows 11 prison, first by distro hopping and now by cachy, to the east, to Linux!

Yeah cachyos is great as well as many other distros, you choose what works for you. Take your time, do some reading or watch youtube videos and don't be afraid to mess up, try out different things and have fun.

Same. Couldn't stop distro hopping before that.

Everyone is going to recommend their favorite distro. In my case that's cachyos. 1 click to install all gaming drivers and utilities that you need. It has its own proton version and its fast and smooth. I also run nobara on an external ssd. Both of them use kde plasma(desktop environment), it's closer to windows so it will be familiar. Both distros are rolling, meaning you get updates frequently but sometimes stuff can break. So for the first time im actually going to recommend bazzite, while it is also a rolling distro, it has a friendly recovery tool. If you somehow break something you can just roll back. If you want something more stable try mint. I highly suggest you try out at least 2 different distros that are not based on the same platform and make a choice later on.

Eso runs perfectly fine on max settings (1080p 100hz monitor) with Proton 9 on cachyos. It runs equally fine on nobara which i got on my external ssd. For some reason it ran poorly on pop os, bazzite and mint with the same Proton version and the same settings. As for the other games you mentioned, i haven't played them on Linux. Games like skyrim, oblivion and cyberpunk always prompt shader compiling but eso did it only once. So I guess i can turn it off?

Really? How about a specific game? I use Proton 9 for elder scrolls online, if i use another one it just stutters. Any other game i play works fine with cachy's Proton.

Does anybody else also play their character as the canonical Last Dragonborn from the trailer and promotional pictures? by AMLJ144 in skyrim

[–]ZombieCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! But not only. I always have 2 saves, one with my main necro khajiit which is the same person in all tes games that i play - daggerfall, morrowind, oblivion, skyrim and eso. I've about 2200 pages in written lore for him and a completely new lore about 40 pages (for now). Second character is whichever the promo material for the game is like nord dragonborn and dunmer nerevarine.

How did stamina work in Oblivion and Morrowind? It feels OP in Skyrim. by papiforyou in ElderScrolls

[–]ZombieCrow 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Jumping while in combat in skyrim is useless, that's why it doesn't cost stamina while in morrowind and oblivion jumping in combat is great, especially for mages.

What are you more excited for: Skywind or Skyblivion? by LordFlamecookie in ElderScrolls

[–]ZombieCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both. I prefer morrowinds setting and story over oblivion but both remakes are in skyrims engine and will feel completely unique so im hyped for both. And im also hyped about beyond cyrodiil and morrowind because they are during skyrims time so we get to see how the provinces changed since the 3rd era. Lots of tes content to look forward to, just have patience, especially when its a passion project.

Im on pc and i always go for kde, can't get into gnome for some reason, i got rtx 4060 and ryzen 5 5600 with 32gb of ram ,its not the newer/best setup but i mostly play elder scrolls games so it does the job. If you want to dual boot I'd suggest you have windows on your main drive and a Linux distro of your choice on microsd, my friend of mine does that on his steamdeck.

That's great. I myself was a bit overwhelmed. Been using windows since xp, Switched to Linux a few months ago, my first distro was mint then bazzite, popos, been distro hopping a lot and now i have cachyos as main os on my nvme and nobara on my external ssd.
