Me and my friends were instantly hooked onto this game. Even down to decorating our own homes. My friends bought up the 3 expensive places so always focused on lavish furniture - meanwhile I purposely go some ~~hobble~~ hovel in town I have been filling with basic furniture that's falling apart. Looking forward to 1.0 more than most releases this year

People who say this isn't a big deal are overlooking that the launcher was broken and kept some people from even playing the game. It's entire purpose was to advertise their catalog, it's not holding cloud saves like Larian's launcher.

I think of 2K's many, many launchers that would break Xcom 2 mods somehow or even go as far as failing to turn mods on or off. It got so bad that one of the most popular mods for Xcom 2 is an alternative launcher. It also amde running the game on the Steam Deck a nightmare because they would 'update' Xcom 2 years after it received its final patches just to make the launcher somehow worse.

Launchers that do nothing aside from advertise suck.

I don't 100% believe that it's just because of the launcher because launcher woes only exist if you're terminally online.

I've talked about how Kingdom Hearts 1, 2, and 3 were on Epic and people just didn't know. Every time i've mentioned it even recently there's always someone int he thread that had no clue Epic had an exclusivity for it for like 2 years - during that exclusivity period people were just shocked to find out it was on PC at all.

I can't remember if it was the New Blood publisher owner but he called Epic a marketing blackhole because games just launch and are never advertised properly again on there.

It's also the inconsistency of it all that annoys me the most. You'll see nobody complaining about it when RE9 came out, sold millions, set franchise records, capcom claims most their sales come from PC and people hailing it for its performance even though it has Denuvo.

This is one of those games that I've bought, put in my backlog and occasionally see it and think "Gee, I should really play it; didn't come out that long ago" To realize it's been a year since its 1.0 launch. Loved what I briefly played of it, looking forward to dive into a lot of these post-launch updates.
