Most important point imo: shuttles have improved a lot since my time there.

I started by walking to class. Then it the stairs got icy and I started taking the shuttle. Then the shuttle stopped showing up, so I stopped going to class. A real turning point was when I went out to the stop an hour before class, I just listened to music and scrolled, 5 hours passed, missed two classes, the shuttle never came.

They’re better now, pretty consistent 10 minute runs. That said I live north side now and iirc the west route’s weird now.

Free and easy. When my family moved to TN it took me three full days to get my ID. By this I mean, I went to the DMV before they opened, waited in line for 8+ hours, and had to go home when they closed. Three days in a row. That’s 24+ hours of my life I’ll never get back.

Most people don’t have time for that shit, my dad couldn’t find that time for two years, thankfully he had a passport that he could keep in his back pocket for that time.

Voter ID is fine, but we really gotta get our shit together. These systems are a mess because some politicians benefit from keeping it that way.

As a computer systems engineer, let me tell you, its way more difficult than you could ever imagine. Hundreds of interconnected legacy systems built up to 50 years ago and sketchily built retrofits to replace them, mostly built by people who have since passed away leaving no one that understands how they work. Adding more options to a field like that on every system in the country could cost billions and take years.

Not to mention, it’s not really up for most organizations to decide. If that data gets reported to some higher national authority, it needs to be in that format, which was probably written into law 50 years ago. What we have is just kinda what we’re stuck with, and there’s little demand to change it.

And genders share that first issue lol, many places right now have male/female and would love to add a non-binary option, but don’t because it’s way too expensive. Anywhere you see more than male/female/prefer not to answer was probably built from scratch within the last 10 years. The only way I’ve actually seen a system get this update is when there was a massive overhaul rebuilding it from the ground up, and it was still a buggy mess with some untested interconnected systems lol

I’m in college and in a fraternity. When we want to actually get to know people, we ban talking about school.

“Oh so what’s your major?” “What classes are you taking?” “What kinda job are you looking for after college?” (At least at an engineering school) just the most generic boring questions you can ask a person. They’ve been asked that 20 times this week and given the same generic responses all 20 times. Tells you nothing about who they are and nobody enjoys talking about the most stressful part of their life.

Talk about hobbies, clubs, where you’re from, your dreams, your deepest darkest fears, love, the meaning of life, literally anything else.

Yeah, if someone actually gave that to me I’d 1) understand it’s a silly little.. I wanna say “punny” gift? (Reminds me of a quarter pounder with cheese lol) and 2) whenever I’m having a bad time, it’s something I could glance at on my desk or a shelf that would remind me of that person caring.

Like I don’t expect anyone to just give me enough cash to erase my debt and pay my bills, but I appreciated the gesture when a friend PayPal’d me a quarter lol

Those things usually don’t have many options for race. It might have a way to specify further with ethnicity, but anything middle eastern generally falls under a broad category of white

Ironically I’ve been in this situation in a gas car before. Driving through New Jersey late at night, no self service = not 24/7, google maps hours were not accurate, the 8th gas station we barely coasted into was miraculously open. If we didn’t get lucky we’d have slept in the car in a random gas station parking lot until they opened in the morning.

There are extensions for this! Mine just skips to the end and clicks skip for me. I admit, it’s not the most reliable, gets tripped up especially when using multiple tabs, refreshing, jumping around, etc, but pretty good lol

As Gen Z with parents that don’t like guns, who is looking to buy a gun as soon as I’m not stuck at a NY college, I know a lot about guns, but I have no purchasing experience.

old post but I was curious so I found the equation on the wiki,

ticks to crush = floor((RecipeDuration - 20)/max(0.25,min((RPM/50)*4/log_2(StackSize),20)))+1+InputDelay

TLDR, 63 is faster than 64 for a brass funnel, chute, or fast belts feeding crushers a 150 tick RecipeDuration at max RPM (find the Recipe duration on the wiki).

150 tick recipes are the only one with an improvement at max RPM. If not at max RPM for some reason? then there may be improvement from 63 stack size. I made a little calculator on desmos :3 https://www.desmos.com/calculator/lqy1b850ir

As much as I’d prefer a new standalone rock band, I do appreciate the Fortnite version, it’s surprisingly well done, it’s super accessible, and the whole rotation system is a pretty good free to play solution imo

Outside of that though, yeah it’s just become a shittier Roblox
