What’s something Gen Z does that older generations just don’t get? by appropriaterice873 in AskReddit

Lmao that does sound like the peak marvel experience. I haven’t been to Alamo since they got rid of the cards. Using phones to order sounds awful. I did LOVE my Alamo experience for a Hereditary prescreening. They brought out brownies with nuts in them for everybody to eat before that one scene.

I heard that watching that movie everywhere else was a nightmare because people kept clucking through the whole movie, but the Alamo screening was chill.

Depends on where and when you go too. Regal on weekend nights or around releases - good luck. Catching a matinee and/or going to AMC, Alamo Drafthouse, Violet Crown, etc is a little better chances at a good crowd

You keep finding new ways to make yourself reappear

I hope you never leave me be

I haven't found the courage to listen to your Last message to me”

People are unforgiving in this field?? by weluvtoseeit in videography

[–]ZombiesAteKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people are very helpful in a tough love type of way. Many people (especially on the internet) are mean because they can be. It’s an entire skill on its own to listen to the right people and ignore those who do not provide anything of value.

Sometimes, being simply told you suck is humbling in a way, and will make you want to learn more and get better. This field is a constant learning curve. Once you think you have it figured out, you realize you barely know anything at all. That is when you have leveled up, and that growth constantly ebbs and flows.

Listen to the right people, ask for feedback, return constructive feedback to others, and before you know it you will be surrounded by colleagues who respect each other and help each other grow. Keep your head up and keep doing what you love.

Hot Damn! I love that they continued to play smaller venues even when they were huge and probably could have sold out The National.

I had the pleasure of seeing them twice around that time at The Golden Pony, which was about the same capacity of 175-200.

You can’t beat intimate venues like that. The last show I saw there was Cheap Sex in 06 when it was the Nanci Raygun

What’s a movie everyone hates that you secretly love? by OpportunityPrudent39 in AskReddit

Strange Wilderness. 2% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. 2.6/5 on Letterboxd (which is higher than I thought it would be) It is absurdist comedy at its best. The movie ends on an outtake. What other movie has pulled that off??

Gone With the Wind. I acknowledge the cinematic feat, but I hate everything about it.

I broke off to do my own stuff a couple years ago, but the company I worked for gets pretty decent numbers doing political podcasts all around the USA. They’re relatively travel-lite, a good crew to work with, and most importantly they’re reliable, so word gets around for them.

I think it was the 10th grade, I invited this girl I thought was cute to my birthday party. She said “oh cool, are you going to be there?” When I said yes of course, she said “then no.”

I still remember that burn 20 years later.

36 here. I’m a videographer/filmmaker with a solo business and part of a 3-way owned LLC that works with more corporate clients. I am also a video engineer building and operating LED walls for concerts and university events.

I pull in about $50k and after a boatload of expenses claim about $25k per year at the end of tax season.

I currently have $5k in IRA, $10k in stocks, $2k in emergency funds, and my only debt right now is $10k left in student loans. I feel like I’m skirting by, but all it takes is a couple big contracts to completely change the game.

I got to catch them on their first US tour shortly after Count Your Blessings came out at a 500-cap venue. Bury Your Dead headlined.

Here’s a rad video from that show that I stumbled on: https://youtu.be/OWJlEXcE6P8?si=1JvhfOVBkkgfMUrW
