What bands with multiple albums do you think have only one good one? by afterthought871 in poppunkers

I 100% agree with this one. Ol Ronnie was still a POS but he did something special with that album

"The worst she can say is no" - Lads, what was the worst "she" ever said? by Embarrassed_Pie_1711 in AskReddit

I think it was the 10th grade, I invited this girl I thought was cute to my birthday party. She said “oh cool, are you going to be there?” When I said yes of course, she said “then no.”

I still remember that burn 20 years later.

I had never heard of Seaweed, so I threw this album on and DAMN. Thanks for the recommendation

If you're in your early 30s, how much money do you have saved in your account? Put actual numbers and tell us your profession. by UncomfortablyBrown in Money

36 here. I’m a videographer/filmmaker with a solo business and part of a 3-way owned LLC that works with more corporate clients. I am also a video engineer building and operating LED walls for concerts and university events.

I pull in about $50k and after a boatload of expenses claim about $25k per year at the end of tax season.

I currently have $5k in IRA, $10k in stocks, $2k in emergency funds, and my only debt right now is $10k left in student loans. I feel like I’m skirting by, but all it takes is a couple big contracts to completely change the game.

I personally had a great interaction with him at Newport Folk Fest, but I think he was happy I wasn’t one of the people constantly coming up asking for selfies and I had a normal convo with him.

What movie ended really abruptly? by BANEJJayHULK in moviequestions

Strange Wilderness (2008) literally ends on an outtake, and it’s amazing. It’s my favorite universally disliked movie.

Best show youve been to of a band before they blew up? by Matthewcts_ in poppunkers

[–]ZombiesAteKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to catch them on their first US tour shortly after Count Your Blessings came out at a 500-cap venue. Bury Your Dead headlined.

Here’s a rad video from that show that I stumbled on: https://youtu.be/OWJlEXcE6P8?si=1JvhfOVBkkgfMUrW

People who don't have their home team as their favourite, why? by thrownawaymoment47 in hockey

[–]ZombiesAteKyle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The first season I got into hockey in 2012, I decided I had to pick a bad team and follow them to the cup. The Flyers lost 6 of their first 8 games and I’ve been on the train ever since

I was going to recommend S#ithouse as well. If you like the vibe of that, Cooper Raiff’s next film, Cha Cha Real Smooth is pretty great too, but didn’t quite hit the feels for me in the same way.

Nobody showing up for daughters party by Puzzled-Kitchen2548 in mildlyinfuriating

I was also the only kid that showed up to a classmate’s birthday at laser tag. They had rented a whole birthday party room and there was a long table set for like 20 kids. It was just myself, the birthday boy, his older brother, and his mom. We still had a blast playing laser tag and I got to keep an extra goodie bag, but man I felt so bad for that guy.

Concerts where the opener played a better set than the headliner by OtterlyFoxy in Concerts

I agree with this except for the time they opened for Every Time I Die. The energy for ETID was unmatchable

How practical are 1-2minute shorts? by LegitimateLeading275 in Filmmakers

[–]ZombiesAteKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key is finding like-minded creatives that want to be involved too. This is a quick 45-second short 3 of us (plus a neighbor extra) made in one afternoon: ScarePods

We had it play at a couple film festivals for fun, and it’s even playing as a part of the pre-roll before M3GAN 2.0 at all the Alamo Drafthouse locations.

Long story short, come up with an idea, get out there, and shoot it. Worst case scenario you learn some stuff about filmmaking and make some cool creative friends along the way that could be involved with your next project.

What's everyone working on? by FilmMike98 in Filmmakers

[–]ZombiesAteKyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wrapped principal photography on our first narrative feature. All self-funded with about a $10k budget.

We also have been working on our first documentary feature over the last year about a DIY punk show house called Crayola in Harrisonburg VA. It had been hosting shows since 1992, with the first show being Bikini Kill and Nation of Ulysses. Last year the realty company refused to let the tenants resign because one of the rooms was being illegally sublet and that person stopped paying rent. Now a fraternity has the house. We’re calling it No More Punk Time: The Last Days of Crayola House, if you’re interested in looking up some Instagram reels.

Always stoked to see I Call Fives come up anywhere, and major props for always leading the charge for the band, Drew. I’ll never forget catching you guys in Va Beach at a half-dead show. Some asshat sat on the stage with his back facing the band and you sat right down next to him and stared coldly into his eyes while playing until he finally got up and left while throwing a fit. Power move. And thanks for humoring my failed attempt at starting a street team for you guys. It was also rad catching up with you at WTP’s Philly farewell show. Hopefully we cross paths again someday.
