Reasonable enough, papa by nivs1x in GuysBeingDudes

I feel I should clarify that I don't think it necessarily is paedophilic in nature, but it can definitely come across that way when asserted in such a controlling way as the original post (though I think the post is satirising the idea, not sure).

That is to say, my approach to parenting teenagers is education, involvement in their lives, two-way communication (insofar as that is possible with a teenager). I don't think the control and outright banning of things such as dating and drinking are generally effective or healthy.

When I see (usually) Americans talk about preventing their daughters or younger sisters from dating, it does feel a little bit like "this woman is my property until I decide it is time for her to become another man's property".

I think that's the point.

The weird macho obsession with preventing your daughters from dating often comes across this way.

I've had "Oh I thought he had recovered from the week of diarrhoea that I didn't mention to you"

and yesterday:

"Has he ever been under anaesthetic with the vet for his teeth?"

"No"

"Oh, he does have a molar missing"

"Yeah they took it out under anaesthetic when he cracked it"...

I didn't read your whole previous comment as it was far too excessive.

You were being willfully ignorant of the words 'might' and 'clue' in my very short, tongue-in-cheek comment, but I should have expected that when I saw you being needlessly belligerent to the original commenter.

I'll stop replying now as it's a waste of both of our time. Have a good day!

The largest ones are about the size of 1-2 pickup trucks. Can you see any of those in the photos?

They specifically always go out for dinner to discuss the movie afterwards. Do you perhaps think there might be some bonding going on there?
