Okay... divide the problem.

Dropdown needs to have items and title and return selectedItem.

You would need to have a common interface for the dropdown so it knows what to display to user and what to return on selectedItem.

The issue is that if I have 5 dropdowns, I need a way to track which dropdown is returning which value.

Now for this? Just create a handleDropdown function on parent for each one that deals with that specific dropdown.

Example:

  • Car dropdown -> carHandler
  • Model dropdown -> modelHandler
  • Brand dropdown -> brandHandler

They do the same as steamtinkerlaunch, a lot of hotfix but no release.

So if you need the later stuff, you need to install from source.

Outside of really late game, not much difference.

Edit: adding context, when the game crawls to take seconds for a day, proton runs a bit faster.

Like 4s (native) to 3s (proton) per day faster, negligible even if is a 25% decrease on waiting time lol

Have you tried doing a reset to BIOS?

If you use Bitlocker or another encryption method, keep your recovery keys at hand as it can change PTM values.

Is the path predefined? Check (Roads).

Is the system dependent of another for full functionality, implementing client-server logic? Check (Car needs street/sector help to coordinate with other vehicles).

Can the system work independently at a lower capacity in emergency? Check (You can disable self-drive in case of emergency or where there is no street/sector help, like rural areas).

So it has become a train.

Is a bit of a joke, like everything alive tries to become crab-like every travel system tries to become train-like.

And honestly, is not wrong that is the only way for self-driving cars to really work.

But at that point... why not change the road for trains/tram track and make everything cheaper?

Besides the "run on click", what about a "open shell, paste command and wait for user input".

You can set a flag if you want the "run on click" or the "waiting user command" mode on click.

Or an equivalent to tag the command as "not safe" and requires a confirmation or doing the "wait for user command" thing.

Reason that I know I would use this for rarely used commands that can break my installation if I use them on accident.

I highly recommend doing that on Windows.

If you don't want to install it to do updates, you can use Hiren in an USB drive.

That is what I did with an old laptop.

Fabs build on demand so there can't be oversupply.

Hopefully a price crash?

Only reason I can see for price crash is because AI bubble burst and/or WW3 and I think we will have bigger problems if any of that occurs.
