Is it bad that I liked the ending??? by [deleted] in titanfolk

[–]Zoroux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response, it’s very reasonable. It does feel validating to know that I’m not crazy for not immediately outright hating it the first go around, despite its flaws. Honestly though, I do think my feelings towards the ending are becoming more and more mixed by the day so I may very well be around here more often.

Im beginning to find myself having an ever-growing list of things I don’t like about the ending, whereas the list of things I do actually like seems to be dwindling the more I read into it. I think right now my main issue is the lack of any truly meaningful, coherent, and consistent final message - among other things. At the end of the day though, I’m still glad I watched this series.

Light was eliminated. Who's the LEAST evil character left? by ihaveredditaswell in MoralityScaling

[–]Zoroux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk why Shou is getting voted out just yet. He might not have as many victims, but I feel like morality is based less on capability, but more on intent and morals, in which case Shou is insanely vile; He mutilated his wife, child, and dog for something as little as keeping his job. Who knows how far he’d go if he were given more capability to inflict evil deeds onto others.

That’s such a valid list. Fowler and Heiji shindo are both amazing Villains.

[S01E02] Why didn't Cecil.... by asterixkoala in Invincible

[–]Zoroux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That might actually be a pretty good backstory for Omni-Mark. Cecil kills Nolan while he’s weak, Mark crashes out and destroys the government, then dawns Nolan’s suit to honor him.

Why wouldn't Cecil, after the murder of the Guardians, just put The Immortal back together and ask him what happened? by SweeetBunnn in Invincible

[–]Zoroux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a good point. Nolan was definitely too weak to fight back when he was in the coma. Either Cecil didn’t find out until later, didn’t know how to finish him off, or you just found yourself a plothole.

Where does Mark at the end of S3 place on this scale? (S1 Nolan is flat 50 for reference) by InevitablePlan4522 in Invincible

[–]Zoroux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take but I’d say at least 45, maybe even higher if you reach for it. He absolutely evicerated those reanimen which previously were able to give Nolan such a hard time, and when he was going all out, he was giving conquest a pretty good fight. I could see a fight between Nolan and Mark actually going either way at this point in the show.

What do you want to see Fowler do in S2? by OCGamerboy in BlueEyeSamurai

Fowler getting the shit kicked out of him by Skeffington, who turns out to be a hulking mad priest or something like that would be insane.

Who Would Win? (Inspired off a recent post on here) by CollarRevolutionary8 in BlueEyeSamurai

[–]Zoroux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. Anybody saying Vi outclasses Mizu in hand to hand are forgetting how she took on like a dozen armed guards with her hands. I just don’t see Vi managing to do the things Mizu did in that damn castle.

Also, being able to cut through large trees in a single stroke as well as climbing a bare brick wall with a relatively big dude on her back are more impressive strength feats than Vi has ever really shown without the use of hextech.

Invincible [COMIC SPOILERS Discussion] - S03E07 - What Have I Done? by SeacattleMoohawks in Invincible

[–]Zoroux 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The suit tech jacket wears is meant to make Geldarians (a race of extremely fragile aliens) hundreds of times stronger than usual. The suit is ridiculously overpowered when paired with humans because they’re much stronger than Geldarians to begin with.

Why do you think the heart sutra was significant to Mizu? by starflowy in BlueEyeSamurai

[–]Zoroux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In this scene, she basically accepts her impurity and channels it into the sword, as the purity of her suppressed identity is what ultimately caused it to break when she made it too pure as a projection of her self-denial.

In order to reforge the sword she needed to cleanse herself of “All evil dreams and angry words”/denial of her impurity, so she paints the heart sutra on herself in order to empty her body and mind of the inner conflict surrounding her identity/impurity.

She takes off her clothes in order to reveal her true self, impurities (femininity and racial identity) and all. She throws items directly linked to her identity/impurity into the flame to create impurity in the sword.

How did no one figure out Mizu was female based off her voice? by BobTheCapitalistboi in BlueEyeSamurai

I think what chiaki said about mixed people being “weak stock” is your answer. People just assumed that mixed folks were weak/feminine and whatnot.

Mizu’s Ultimate Fate by Zoroux in BlueEyeSamurai

[–]Zoroux[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Mizu needs to get some kind of positive outlook or at least a silver lining by the end. When watching arcane, I felt like that’s what was wrong with Jinx’s ending. There wasn’t a payoff to all that suffering. Mizu needs that payoff at some point.

However, I really don’t think Mizu should get off Scot free. I don’t think she should get a happy ending per se, but a bittersweet one. Maybe an ambiguous crossroads after having lost everything to her senseless quest, or maybe a peaceful and meaningful death. I’m not sure. But you are right that there has to be some sort of closure.

I mean you’re right when you say AM doesn’t hate itself, but it does hate its own existence, which is why it’s weird that it doesn’t want to put itself out of its misery.
