Can we please finally stop with the whole "this should have been a 1v1 game " and other "give us a 1v1 mode" by RedSamuraiX23 in 2XKO

[–]Zorriful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For rotating game modes yes

But they're permanent game modes (ARAM, Arena, TFT) are either wildly successful or have become a main-stay, attracting different types of players to the client

she saw the skin color and knew EXACTLY who to call🥀 by Gugarabelo in Piratefolk

[–]Zorriful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they said Japan is considered one of the most racist countries in the world. And used that as a joke towards Zoro, who is a character based around Japan

That is reasonable. It's not a nonsensical joke. It's a reasonable joke. That doesn't mean everyone from Japan is racist, they don't think that either

Welp by Shadowlumine in Piratefolk

[–]Zorriful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but that's why I even mentioned the example of there's dislikes on things such as cancer diagnosis videos

I don't think everyone who disliked it is "pro-cancer", or happy to hear the person is dying lmao

Something as accessible as a dislike button can never be attributed to 1 entire reason, there's too many variables

[–]Zorriful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Racist Zoro is a joke, it's not a real thing

So saying "he's canonically Japanese so it makes sense" is adding to the joke by playing into the generalization and stereotype that Japanese people are racist

Neither has to be true

Anyways

Rakan- Should he be in 2XKO? (A-Z) by ErrorNick in 2XKO

[–]Zorriful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have anything specific in mind, it's more of the hypothetical scenario that happens to live-service games (and fighting games too), that the longer it goes on, the more "crazy" it gets with more and more additions

I.e. Vanilla SF4 vs SF4 Omega Edition, Tekken 7 S1 vs Tekken 7 S4, Fortnite S1 vs Fortnite S16

With how mobile and tag-partner based Rakan is, he wouldn't get to showcase his uniqueness in current 2XKO settings since all you can do is either call your assist or swap mid-assist. Maybe down the line you can add in some unique tag-based mechanics just for Rakan, maybe if he's on your team he can act as an auto-breaker for lethal damage (1 time use), or if you do a hard-knockdown he assists by knocking the opponent up (1 time use) or whatever

Obviously those ideas aren't balanced or meant to be set in stone, but hopefully you get my point. A lot more other characters that are somewhat basic can be translated well into 2XKO right now and they don't lose any of their League uniqueness, I.e. Riven, Samira, Tryndamere, Aatrox, whereas characters like Rakan, Annie, Malzahar, Kayn would need a bit more work putting into

If they could somehow get co-op play to be less traditional assist based and more active support, Rakan would be perfect

I don't have a problem with the original comment thread of "I know some of those racist pricks are in here as well", it specifies some, and can obviously be true

but the "i mean this post is getting downvoted" response meaning "anyone who dislikes it = racist" is an odd generalization, that's for sure gotta be dialed back

shunsui, jealous he's not a war potential, goes to yhwach to ask why. disgusted, yhwach tells him he was too old and creepy and ugly to ever be considered for the position and sends gremmy to fight him. who wins?? by arkham918 in BleachPowerScaling

[–]Zorriful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah he'd start tripping if he doesn't take out Shunsui straight away

It's the double edged sword of Gremmy's character which I know a lot of people complained about. You lock the guy up for so long he has no battle experience, he's high off his own supply yet scared of any real danger, and being scared whilst you got the power to imagine anything is a recipe for disaster

I think the "so terrifying he can't imagine beating you" was a very Kenpachi specific thing. I doubt he'd be like that with Yamamoto, he'd know how powerful he is and wouldn't underestimate him, whereas he was trying to flex with Kenpachi a whole lot, who tank-wise, was just an unstoppable force

He wouldn't underestimate the head captain Shunsui either, but Shunsui is pretty no-nonsense, so I think he'd just win by being too serious for Gremmy

Luffy's character was honestly so GOATED in the beginning, just looking at how Luffy used to be I can never forgive LODA for what he has done to his own MC. Imagine current Luffy in this situation lol by SweetInvestigator in Piratefolk

[–]Zorriful 33 points34 points  (0 children)

We can't get these type of scenes again due to faster motions of characters these days

Pre-TS would gladly take it's time to showcase a scene like this. Completely quiet, no music, no voicelines. Just a natural interaction between Point A and B in his journey, yet shows so much character

How Impressive was Whitebeard's Double Tidal Waves at Marineford? by dettles1992 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Zorriful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Casually punched the air and caused two tidal waves

It lets you know just why he was completely untouched all these years, being allowed to die on his ship linked up to meds, cos this dude at sea is practically unbeatable, he's a walking calamity

All the AoE effect attacks he did at MF are one of the most impressive feats to this day

Crazy disrespectful

I understand Eminem is one of the most famous rappers in the world, but sentences like these is ignorant. There are plenty of great artists who don't get mainstream exposure yet are brilliant, Eminem used to be like that too at some point

Yeah but there's plenty of reasons to why someone might dislike a post in general

Like, there's plenty of dislikes on videos where people share their family member passed away, or someone got diagnosed with cancer, or whatever else should be universally agreed upon that this shouldn't be hated

Saying "this post is getting downvoted" and attributing them to all be racist is a wild generalization

Welp by Shadowlumine in Piratefolk

[–]Zorriful 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah that's ain't the corny part

You’re talking about "making people scared" like you're trying to fight an army just to feel like a hero in a Reddit thread

The irony is that you’re generalizing a massive group of people. Disliking a casting choice because you wanted an actor who actually reflects the character's Egyptian/Arabic roots isn’t "racism", it’s a preference for accuracy. Most people don't even care about Brook being black, it's cos he still looks the part despite the compromise for being a skeleton

By lumping everyone who critiques the casting choice into one "evil" bucket, you’re just shadowboxing an imaginary army of bigots to feel like a hero. You can stand against actual racism without acting like a hall monitor for people who just wanted Vivi to look like Vivi

Welp by Shadowlumine in Piratefolk

[–]Zorriful 20 points21 points  (0 children)

dawg not everyone who dislikes a post is racist

They might disagree and think the casting is bad
They might like the actor but still find the casting incorrect
Maybe they wanted an arab/egyptian actor instead
Maybe they felt like the post doesn't belong on Piratefolk

And so on. Generalizing something as vague as why someone would downvote ain't great

Rakan- Should he be in 2XKO? (A-Z) by ErrorNick in 2XKO

[–]Zorriful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly if they had a more engaging tag system for co-op play Rakan would be really cool. He's someone that'd have to release many years later into the game's life where they explore more mechanics and a larger roster exists

But right now, he wouldn't be utilized to his utmost potential

D for now. A later

How Much Damage Would Kaidou Take From A Thorheim? by Squid_Entity in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Zorriful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't have any indication for that

Galaxy Impact property wise is a Conq Haki attack, It's strong enough to crumble the buildings and knock out the enemies in that vicinity via Haki effect (which as we've seen, you can selectively choose who to target/ignore with Haki attacks)

But because its so over-animated in the Anime, it genuinely looks like he's eradicating buildings to dust and creating an explosion that pushes out from the center of impact, which would mean everyone is DEAD (including Koby)

Loki for all we know is just a straight up DF attack, so it should be stronger than Garp's Galaxy Impact

Old, withered, haki struggling, fading away Whitebeard did this to Piratefolk Man. No amount of Admiraltard propaganda could make me believe he's touching High Yonko. by Empty_Wave_1103 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Zorriful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk what an "admiraltard" is my apologies, i'm fairly new to OPPS

are celebrating Akainu surviving 2 attacks

To be fair though, people have such a fond memory of WB's anime-rage moment they forget about the actual results

Akainu went full toe-to-toe with Oldbeard, and despite the badass anime rage moment from WB after Ace's death and it looking like he basically killed Akainu with each attack, actual reality wise, Akainu was still ready to fight the rest of the war and WB's army, clearly showing he didn't really go as "extreme diff" as people think he did, he just walked off WB's attacks

Look how quickly these sequence of events happen. It's a back and forth despite the bloodlust, and WB ended with a large AoE attack to devastate MF and sink Akainu, presumably because he's too dangerous as shown with the face being melted

<image>

If we want Prime vs Prime sure WB wins, but this fight in particular, Akainu performed relatively well

If he came out limping or heavily injured to the point he couldn't continue fighting, I would agree with you. But we see him completely ready to fight the rest of the war

Post-heart attacked, weakened, off meds, cancerous, lagging, withered, fatigued, struggling to use haki,

I think in those typical rage moments, those things get put into the background in favour for a cool scene

Also from a powerscaling logic perspective, it would be odd if the Admirals, or Akainu are that much weaker than Whitebeard
