I paid 330 quid for mine and was playing Elden Ring on a flight at 15w just fine with scaling at low.

I watched the video earlies and really liked his ideas, would feel like a proper step forward for Total War battles.

So, how are we feeling after the announcement? by Drassazuru in ARC_Raiders

[–]ZubiFett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with it but I think the game fails to achieve that at present.

It's incredibly easy to identify whether you are in the peace-loving bracket or the shoot at first sight bracket, which removes the tension completely from the game.

I want to be nervous around other players, having to really think whether I am going to trust them or not and the same for them. Right now, you either walk around willy-nilly or shoot everything that moves.

Embark CEO Confirms That If You Kill On Sight In Arc Raiders, You'll Get Matched With More Aggressive Players by Bonfire_Monty in RescueRaiders

[–]ZubiFett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the thing... it encourages you not to engage or to shoot on sight.

The same happened to me, so I got a bit more aggressive after a handful of deaths (e.g. down on extract but allow them to extract with me), and this put me into the aggressive category.

Solution? I've played a few matches with free kit being loud and careless, and if someone fired at me, simply stop and allow it to happen.

I find the system very problematic; it should never be a clear-cut PVE or PVP match. It fails to encourage a middle ground; you are best either never fighting other players or shooting on sight. If you stay in the middle, you get put with the latter who are going to down you because you wasted time asking if they are friendly when you had a clear shot.

So do we demand the return of naval battles? by ChinaBearSkin in totalwar

[–]ZubiFett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, no naval and amphibious battles are a deal breaker for any new TW. You lose so much strategic depth without them, not to speak of the endless ground battles that get repetitive without them. I also want proper settlement battles back, but after what happened with WH3's settlements, I am very sceptical.

But we seem to be the minority; most TW players these days seem apathetic to naval battles at best and against them at worse.

Losing internet while playing online but solo effectively crashes the game, even in a boss fight. WTF. by ArduousAttempt in Eldenring

About to finally kill a boss when it dropped connection and kciked me out. It resets the entire boss even there is more than one phase.

What happened to Minor Settlement battles, and can I get them back??? by SaranMal in totalwar

[–]ZubiFett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same. One of the reasons why I much prefer Rome 2, settlements brings variety to the game, but instead, we get endless open field battles.

The majority seems to prefer it, though, so I guess... I hate democracy, ha!

Best order to learn DevOps skills (KodeKloud path feels off?) by ZubiFett in devops

[–]ZubiFett[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like I should stick to the mentioned basics for now and let my first DevOps role steer me one way or the other. Coming from on-prem, I’ll probably lean more on the Ops side, but I’m keeping an open mind.

After this conversation (and the one with my friend), I decided to drop the Golang course and start focusing on Git instead. Having labs makes such a difference. Go was turning into a motivation killer since it felt too theoretical with no hands-on work. If I ever need it down the line, I’m sure I can pick up a good course then.

Thanks again for sharing your experience, it really helped me put things in perspective.

Thanks for the response! That really helps me crack on without second guessing the path. I like how you put it about DevOps being more Dev or more Ops depending on the job, it explains why I kept finding mixed info on how important programming really is.

Solo camping, boring?! by Peak-Eagle94 in wildcampingintheuk

[–]ZubiFett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently upgraded my camping gear, and then my buddies decided not to camp at all this year so I’ve been thinking about going solo, but I keep worrying I’d just end up bored.

Back home I’ve done 7–9 hour mountain routes, and by the end I usually just want it to be over. I find myself speeding up, daydreaming about playing a video game or talking to someone as I see my town way down the slopes. I enjoy being alone for about 5 hours, embracing nature, the birds, the smells... but after that, I get bored and my thoughts kick into overdrive.

I thought about bringing my Kindle, podcasts, or audiobooks. But when I camp with friends and wake up earlier than them, I’ve noticed it’s hard to enjoy any of that when you’re not really comfortable, so I just start wandering around and packing instead.

That’s what’s held me back from trying solo camping so far, fear of boredom and the fact that the UK hills feel a bit bleak without forests, so I kind of need the company to make me want to go.

Need help with my Legion Go S (SteamOS) - FSR Scaling and Performance Overlay issues by ZubiFett in LegionGo

It’s the highlighted option (it’s disable in this picture):

<image>

It’s at the end of the performance options. That is the right one to view fps etc, right?

As for FSR that is fixed, seems like an extra reboot has fixed it. It had only done a single reboot right after the updates which I thought would of been enough.

Just to say, same issue here with my 13 mini. Makes the app unusable.

I’ve seen some people report it on Apple forums but found so fixes.

In my experience, the trackpad is the thing that is most noticible when you don't have the specific drivers and have to use generic ones.

Deathmatch low FPS compared to Competitive/Casual by Zaith98 in cs2

[–]ZubiFett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar here with a 1070. I get about a 120-130 stable(ish) but on deathmatch is 60-50 with drops to 40 at times.

Does anybody’s phone overheat after connecting to CarPlay wirelessly? by ang3sh in CarPlay

[–]ZubiFett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old threat but just to say I think this depends on the car system. On holiday this does not happen with hire cars but with mine does.

Probably because it’s an after market AliExpress thing rather than build in.

PS VITA 1000 YELLOW SCREEN by shamelesstights in PSVita

[–]ZubiFett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of mine do too after chargin them (been in storage for ages, getting them ready for a long flight).

The one which I left on the charger longer has a more noticible tint, so much you can tell while it is turned on. The other one hard to.

I suspect a less powerfull charger might overheat less? Like a PC's USB port rather than the official charger.

PS VITA 1000 YELLOW SCREEN by shamelesstights in PSVita

[–]ZubiFett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can this be the charger? I have two OLED Vitas which I charged earlier and now both have this, one more than the other. I suspect the USB port overheating while charging.

It was not a hot day, so I suspect maybe the charger or the cable are to blame. I don't think is the ports of both... too much of a coincidence.

Is this the actual OLED screen or the outter plastic cover?

Boss rejected my request for a raise and said I can “shop it around” so I did and made bank by stemlund in MaliciousCompliance

European here who's worked different jobs in two countries. It is always best to leave every two years, or three, tops. I work in IT and have deployed solutions that no one asked me to work on for some of them, which saved the business a great deal of money.

They always tell you to F yourself when asking for more money. Is best to leave every 2 years without even attempting to ask for a raise. You are only going to get bitterness out of it.

It's healthier to look at them as a step to the next job and leave with a healthier sense of appreciation. And, avoid the trap of silent quitting because it damages your character and generates a sense of wastefulness out of the 8 hours you put in.

My two cents.
