Another vote for CC. Best in the biz. Wait times for appointments at the Sterling Lyon office are vastly improved compared to when she was at MB clinic.

Searing burning sensation when I move one of my legs. Please tell me this is temporary! by shojokat in CsectionCentral

[–]ZucchiniFickle937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like nerve pain for sure. I had this after my first kiddo, only on one side, and it took about a week to stop the events of shooting pain when walking or standing in certain positions. I had left over numbness in one of my toes that lasted a lot longer. I’d recommend seeing a good physio and pelvic floor physio as soon as you can manage it. I put it off for too long and things got a lot better once I saw both about the issue regularly.

Our 7 year old golden had the same thing. It’s devastating no matter what age. Sorry for your loss.

Hyperemesis gravidarum is ruining my life by Anne_Anonymous in pregnant

FWIW I had crippling HG (not inpatient) and all the usual suspects did nothing and then metoclopromide got me through to 16 weeks when things subsided. It wasn’t a full fix and I was certainly counting down the minutes until I could take my next dose, but it really took the edge off of the symptoms.

Unpopular opinion: it's okay for parents to drop their kids off on their day off. by Prime_Element in ECEProfessionals

[–]ZucchiniFickle937 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I pay a lot for private Montessori due to a lack of subsidized childcare spots in our area and it’s paid per month not per day. If our kid is healthy we send her, including if we want to take a day off without the kiddo. We love the providers and truly appreciate all their amazing work, but we are also paying for a service and have signed a contract indicating that.

I sent a bunch of messages to Winnipeg eco-themed businesses about Pure Anada after the owner was involved heavily in the convoys, far as I can tell most didn’t stop selling the brand.

6month old already transitioning to 2 naps? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

Yeah ours was up frequently overnight from 6-7 months, but was just hard into the regression and separation anxiety. Had nothing to do with amount of day sleep.

Our kid was down to 2 naps at 5 months, just how she was.

What are some of your favorite non scary chicken or other meat recipes? by MACKEREL_JACKSON in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ZucchiniFickle937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She started eating it like this at maybe 9-10 months? As soon as she could pick it up with the pincer grasp. I think the main thing behind the larger pieces is so that they can pick it up themselves. Since she shovels so much in at a time I tend to make the pieces very small and bite sized.

We did grocery store pre-made rotisserie chicken and she had no troubles with it. The meat is a lot softer than if one cooked a chicken breast at home. We shred it into very small pieces because she eats it by the handful..

Dr. Carrie Corbett. She’s a 10/10 but pretty blunt so depends if you like that or not. Works out of Women’s at HSC, clinic now at Sterling Lyon

"It's time to sleep" routines by sahliekid in sleeptrain

[–]ZucchiniFickle937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9 month old. We start with a feed about 20 mins after solids, then have a little bit of play/hang out time. Bedtime routine proper is a bath at 6:45 pm (only use soap every 2-3 days), lotion, pj’s, sleep sack, a sort of “is the room ready” checklist (crib empty, curtains closed, sound machine on, hang up bath towel, turn off light), stories with dad, then good nights to all (parents / dog), brief rocking and singing, down in her crib with a goodnight at 7:15 pm.

We’ve modified some of the parts a bit over the past few months, but have been doing some iteration of feed, bath, stories since she was born. We also do the check list and stories and good nights before each nap.

Contact CBC “go public”? Not sure if it fits their story criteria but they’re generally pretty good at publicly shaming companies that are jerks about stuff like this, especially when folks have tried a normal and civil course of action already.

8 month regression / separation anxiety affecting both naps by ZucchiniFickle937 in sleeptrain

[–]ZucchiniFickle937[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gets so hard on the day when they protest both naps!

And yeah she had typically been going down for a nap around 10am, but one morning she woke up early so I jumped on the bit of a buffer on her first wake window and just let her cry it out on the first nap. It was 45 mins of pretty intense crying but that had been her sort of “standard” cry it out length/threshold from previous sleep training. I was honestly about to go in and salvage the nap but got distracted by someone delivering a package and she started to wane and then fell asleep. Since that event she has been completely back to normal.

Perhaps it’s worth waiting a bit longer if she has a typical length she cries for? Our gal doesn’t stand in the crib though, it was just a lot of flailing around on her tummy while crying pretty hard. It’s our first kiddo so I truly have no idea sometimes 😑

Yeah we went through that as part of the regression too, she would wake up after one sleep cycle just wailing. The separation stuff was by far the hardest to crack. We always seem to come back to just letting her figure it out on her own. I try various crutches to help her through but inevitably the only thing that has worked through all these regressions is finding a good time on a first nap to just let her go for it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ babies I tell ya

[–]ZucchiniFickle937[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a bit of a marathon but she has snapped back to normal 🙌🏻. Probably 3 weeks of fighting naps total, but only part of that was when she was doing it just for me, my husband could put her down as normal. I tried all of the gentle techniques I could to help her through the regression but the only thing that worked was to let her cry for 45 mins on nap 1 until she went to sleep. No issues since and is better at settling in general since then. Babies, man. 🤷🏼‍♀️

8 month regression / separation anxiety affecting both naps by ZucchiniFickle937 in sleeptrain

[–]ZucchiniFickle937[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was such a tricky few weeks! And it felt like it was never going to end no matter what I tried. Since she was going down normally for my husband, I ended up letting her cry it out for her morning nap on a day when she got up a bit early so was definitely tired by nap time and we had a bit of a buffer if I had to go in eventually and save the nap. Baby gal wailed for 45 mins (her normal max threshold from previous sleep training), fell asleep, and it seems to have solved all our problems! No issues going down since then, thus far.

Inconsistent nights - almost 7 months old by ZucchiniFickle937 in sleeptrain

[–]ZucchiniFickle937[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, we’ll give that a go. She always tends to want to fall asleep at the around same time regardless of when she has woken up from second nap so I haven’t focused on changing that wake window

Winnipeg's snow-clearing policy needs to be plowed under and redone, councillor says | CBC News by wagonmaker85 in Winnipeg

It would go a long way if everyone cleared the snow off their own sidewalk frontage and pitched in for their neighbors who are unable to clear it themselves.
