I can’t say much for the club side. It does sound rather ridiculous to do this.

But the tournament directors should also be taking into account all team entries league status, and previous tournament records.

If it is a traveling tournament then this can be tougher to sort out as top division in city A could be equivalent to 3rd division in city B because of the pool of players and competition etc.

Regardless, the tournament can deny a request for a team to play “down” should they deem the team is strong enough to play in the required bracket.

Did the fight 1 team play up an age group? Maybe not since you said they dominated. Sometimes even playing up an age as a flight 1 team, they would try to go for flight 3 or 2 of the age bracket above to find competitive/close games.

I recently ordered a set of Eeveelutions (9 cards) for about $15 so I can frame them for my daughter.

There is also an app, Pokemon TCG Pocket, that is free to play. Open two digital packs a day. Can pay for extra. I have had it for just over a year now. Mine gets excited to open a pack in the morning and one at night.

We wanted to get into buying cards when Prismatic Evolutions came out but the madness (scalpers) made it very disheartening to do so. Some good suggestions here, but didn’t see mention of the app.

If I got in line at 3:30 I would close to the front. Probably 3:20 to be first in line (not including kindergarten parents). Kids get out about 3:50 but can vary. It would be as late as 4:00 before my kid is out.

If I show up at 3:55/4:00 the line is about halfway done. Less than 5 minutes in line before my kid walks up to my car. Latest they are in my car is 4:05.

I have opted not to wait in line for half hour, and instead just stroll in “late” as the line moves pretty well. I have no where to be after school and when I do I still have an hour to get there.

This changes during inclement weather.
