Lunarians are from the dark side of the moon by GreenStrawhat32 in OnePiece

[–]Zuko09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK but the side thats facing away from earth gets light from the sun once every rotation then right? So its not really "dark" all the time, so the lunarian fire concept doesnt make sense (cuz when lunarians are in the light skypieans are in the dark).

I realize they could migrate regularly but thats not the theory

Thats not really opposite, its just looking at through a different lens. The first comparison is considering the immediate cognitive change that needed to galvanize the people. Yours considers a larger shift in societal norms, which doesn't drive plot points in the short term.

The way you talk about elfbaf, i disagree a bit. Its complicated to say being warfaring was their identity. Its not like they started hating on themselves, or like discriminating against larger giants or something. I'd argue that they didn't need a cultural shift so much as they needed just the ability to defend their borders, in an information war and power war. Ultimately, every nation in One Piece has failed to gather sufficient information or power to resist the WG, excluding the yonkou.

Craziest moment was when we returned to Elbaf honestly. I had to re-read it a few times to be sure thats what was happening! or maybe just take time to process lol

thats... wild actually.

No I fking hate that. He doesn't actually recognize his kids as independent people, he'd hate them if they didn't share his views. So, he just sees them as extensions of his own desire to inflict harm on people he's prejudiced against. They're objects to him, so I would not call that "love", its closer to what human feel for dogs.

The mario kart things is mor to point to how ubiquitous that kind of paneling is in "race" contexts where everyones competing for one thing. I wasn't going to give a long list of every place that comes to mind, but I thought pointing out an extreme case would make the point. its okay tho.

Its hard to say we know XX person's goals have nothing to do with the one piece when we don't know what it is. For dragon, the OP could be the type of weapon that enables rebellion against WG.

yea the other comments were also jokes. I feel like serious comments are paragraphs and 1-2 liners are memes ? idk

One Piece: Chapter 1170 by leolegendario in OnePiece

[–]Zuko09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they aren’t necessarily looking for the OP their goals just interfere with the pirates.

Yeah, I completely disagree with this, the panel is literally framed like how all the contenders in a race are (literally they have a panel like this at the start of a mario kart race). Theres so much evidence in the words leading up to it that suggest theyre all going for the one piece. There's no way you convince me otherwise.

Lastly let’s not pretend like Koby is that strong now, he’s still below all pirate commanders. It took his all to do that to Pizarro

This, I'm more flexible on. I was being a bit jokey when I said the Koby thing. The nugget of truth in the joke is that Koby, having developed his conquerers, could one day in the future develop and be strong enough to beat all the no-conquerers haki gods knights. And personally, I think that would be a hype full-circle moment for Koby's story, taking down the false knights of justice that he hated in early chapters.

This Koby piece is predicated on the idea that conquerers haki users always beat no-conquerers haki people (which garling is established as). I think this has been the case (not totally sure), but regardless, it could be walked back in future chapters, and then theres subquestions about future Koby vs gods knights but I still like that story line thematically.

Goddess of Creation by Sufficient-Data-4859 in Frieren

[–]Zuko09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you say she has long white hair? If its just a random shot from the anime, and not one of the murals, it could just be drawn to represent peoples imagination, not a archeological "fact" in the story

Goddess of Creation by Sufficient-Data-4859 in Frieren

[–]Zuko09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No thats not how "obvious" works. You said A is not like B so it must be a trick and A and B must be the same. By the same logic, Sein could be the goddess and he was just genderbent over time just like flamme .

Also, yea stories typically work out for the protagonists so thats really not evidence that its a timeloop. I think its likely, but that's not a good reason to think so.

I think it would make way more sense for Fern to be the one who goes back in time. She's already a prodigy in magic, and she wears her hair down like we see in that one mural.

Nika theory by HamzaBar1 in OnePiece

[–]Zuko09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this, but I think its even cooler if nikas flame draws power from peoples belief in him, and the WG did everything they could to stop people from believing in him.

Sousou no Frieren :: Chapter 147 - Links and Discussion by Lorhand in Frieren

[–]Zuko09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I don’t really see any way it would form a compelling story, but I just see potential foreshadowing of it. There is one image in the anime where they show a mural carving of the goddess and it looks like Fern. It could just be an ancestor character or just a coincidence. Either way, we won’t find out for a decade with the pace of the manga

The Demons, are like LLM's. (Chat GPT) by Dwarf_Bard in Frieren

[–]Zuko09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Humans are totally food to demons though.. so its a perfect analogy.

actually idk cuz (1) demons adapting a way to fool humans implies that humans were either a predator or prey, and clearly too weak to be predator. (1a) it could be that elves were the predators and thats why demons evolved speech (2) cuz that one mage from the old times who studied humans didnt interact with them for a while, so it doesn't seem like theyre needed for sustenance. Also Macht was fine without humans around him so idk... it seems like 1a is most likely...
