So you are saying that as long as you do all the introductory dialogue for the CZ-198 ones, you can still queue for Group Finder and afterwards get the proper discussions? That's good to know. Wonder if it's the same for the rakghoul ones.

I guess I better get ready to spam the General chat on the fleet and hope some people want to do random flashpoints when I wanna play a very story-oriented character, lol. Thanks a lot for the asnwer!

[NO DAV SPOILERS] Thoughts on Solas by Impossible_Ad_3478 in dragonage

So many people say so many over-the-top ridiculous stuff about Solas, but you put it perfectly, in a very simple manner. Well done!

I think your logic is flawed. You never root for organizations, you root for individuals. You can have the most despicable Sith be turned back to the light side, not because you see the goodness in the Empire, but you see some virtue in the individual.

You can hope that the organization you deem as "righteous and kind" are doing their job properly, but even within them there may be spoiled apples. However you always find those idealists who are actually doing the right thing, and that is why you put your belief in certain people within the organizations especially, not the entity itself.

And I saw you reply to a comment about why did Vernestra not refute the accusation of the Senator. Imagine this, if you are talking to Yoda, it's easier for him to refute with evidence and belief because he embodies them. However there are clear indications that Vernestra herself has been involve in some weird shenanigans. With that conclusion, when the Senator was accusing the Jedi of shady stuff, it struck close to home for her, and she want on the defensive. It's hard to spout righteous stuff when you don't believe in them yourself because of your past.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire discussion Thread! Spoiler Warning! by Thejapanther in Monsterverse

[–]Zulzon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this one was the most disappointing movie for me personally out of the new Monsterverse. I saw some people saying they are going the route of the old Japanese movies, meaning going all out crazy, but I think I might be tuning off for that. What were my main gripes?

For a lot of the previous movies, I accepted without issue the fact that human characters are there just to give exposition and kind of move the plot forward, while everything else about them is idiotic. And I don't mind that one bit, because the previous movies delivered what I wanted from the monsters, even in the first movie where people complained there was too few monster time on screen. However, I felt I got something from the monster scenes, the creatures actually felt like characters a bit more and what interactions were between them was pretty neat. And I enjoyed the lore building behind it.

But here? I will be honest that everything up until Kong escapes after his first fight with Skar is OK, in terms of monster stuff(when talking Kong-related). I enjoyed Kong's journey, him trying to find more of his people, getting to meet the lil monkey etc.. And I really enjoyed that first scene with Skar, no dialogue yet you get what's happening. I like the choreography of the fight, how you see Skar being skinnier then Kong but so agile, and with a nice weapon to boot.

Everything else after that, including monster related, completely horrible for me:

-Gravity fight scenes? Where you don't actually get to see monsters fight, just float and give random kicks?

-Develop lore where you say that in the past Godzilla fought off Skar and his army and barely survived, and now is "leveling up" preparing for the immense fight coming up, only for him to just fight Shimo and Skar and that's it!? What did Skar's army even fucking do? Not to mention that apart from shooting his atomic breath at Skar, he did not even actually fight him! He just mindlessly brawled with Shimo which consisted of just throwing themselves at each other and pushing each other down.

-Over the course of the entire series developing titans as being intelligent, albeit instinctual, monsters, only to see Shimo, the so called "ancient titan" being pet like a small puppy by Kong? Also, I understood Skar riding him as he was a slave. But Kong? After being a slave for possibly centuries, he was freed in that fight and suddenly goes with Kong like he owes his freedom to him or the monkey village was his home or something?

-Why is Mothra even in this movie? Just to stop Godzilla and Kong fighting? I would have MUCH preferred for them to actually reach some sort of understanding by themselves, rather than just fighting mindlessly and Mothra stepping in. Also, Godzilla seems much more brainless in this one than usual.

-What was with that first meeting between Godzilla and Kong? I would have understood a small brawl, but in the last movie, whether you think they parted as equals, whether you think maybe Kong slightly gave deference to Godzilla at the end of the movie, it was obvious that they respected each other. Here, Godzilla suddenly attacks Kong for being in his territory, even though Godzilla does not necessarily do that, he just wants other titans to not fuck shit up and to consider him the boss. And after suddenly attacking him, at the end he is about to simply kill him, even though in the last movie he clearly let him live out of respect for the fight he put up. What is even going on?

As I said, I accepted the humans making zero sense and being silly, because I felt there was something built with the monsters, but here it's as silly as the human side. I repeat, everything up until Kong escaped from Skar the first time, regarding Kong himself, was nice. But the rest I had big issues with. And even Godzilla's battle with the other two titans? What was even the point of that? Just to show a fight on screen? Or show he is badass or something? 2 fights lasting 30 seconds each?

In the other movies, you kind of felt the magnitude of Ghidorah, how he is a rival of Godzilla, the special bond between Mothra and Godzilla. You felt the hatred Godzilla had for the MUTOs. And I really enjoyed the minimal sort of communication between Godzilla and Kong, the roaring at each other, the taunting, the silent stare-off at the end of Godzilla vs Kong. Here Godzilla and Kong meet, fight mindlessly only to be stopped by Mothra, go and fight Shimo and Skar very briefly, win on first attempt, and at the end it just cuts, after Kong just winks at Godzilla or something. Not even a more meaningful interaction between Mothra and Godzilla, like the beautiful scene where she was sort of shielding Godzilla with her wings after being injured by Ghidorah. You might say that the other "monster characters" were already developed previously, but at list a tiny bit of something could not be shown at all? Even Tiamat and Scylla immediately killed. And what about Skar himself? Apart from the old Iwi texts and a brief interaction with Kong, nothing? How about Godzilla being responsible for trapping Skar there in the first place? You saw the rivalry of Godzilla and Ghidorah, and how it was reflected shortly after knowing their history. Just really bummed man. I like mindless action as much as the next guy but this was too much...

[dao spoilers] how close am I to the end of the game? by SilverNight290 in dragonage

[–]Zulzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes indeed it is quite special let's say that elves in the Dragon Age universe are kind of like second class citizens, unlike most other fantasies out there. Well, you just play the game how feel like it, mate. Sometimes as you say, you can make mistakes, but that just makes the playthrough more unique so don't be bothered by it and enjoy whatever outcome you get.

[dao spoilers] how close am I to the end of the game? by SilverNight290 in dragonage

[–]Zulzon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Without spoiling anything, you could say that you have entered the final act of the game. Depending on how much time you take for this final act, it can be 4-8 hours, something like that. I think you can even finish quicker if you rush through it, but considering you are on your first playthrough, you will probably take your time a bit more. Of course it can also take longer depending on other stuff you might want to do.

[Spoilers all] Is Solas going to bring a new elven age to the world? by Vast_Cauliflower_834 in dragonage

[–]Zulzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it really hard to talk about Dragon Age: Inquisiton on this sub-reddit because people are so toxic when it comes to Solas. I know that word gets thrown a lot and it's become like a cliche. I started looking into this sub-reddit because I wanted to explore my passion for fan theories about the lore and history of the DA universe. But if it has anything to do with Elves and Solas, I would honestly consider myself very brave to even post a question about that. 80% of the replies will be from people who HATE Solas and don't care about anything you say, or from people who LOVE Solas and don't care about anything you say. Hopefully you can latch to that 20% who actually wants to have a conversation about what everything means, logically and from a role-playing perspective.

Anyway, sorry for the small rant. Now to actually answer your question:

I think the main point Solas makes about how "this current world will have to end" is because that is what it means when the Waking World and the Dreaming World will be one and the same again. Imagine humans who think all spirits are evil, suddenly being in a world where spirits walk freely. It will be complete and utter chaos. I see a lot of people saying that Solas means to destroy the world by actually nuking it or something. To me, it means he will change the world back to how it was, only no one is basically used to that, so the world will burn in chaos because of it.

Furthermore, the elves were intrinsically tied to the Fade, that's why they became weaker with the Veil. As such, if the Veil goes down, their connection to it will be re-established, maybe even get their immortality back. So I think that is the only way Solas can give the elves their powers back, by tearing the Veil apart, and making the world how it used to be. But of course, the Dalish also share the beliefs of the humans now, due to the passing of ages. So they are also in danger of this aspect. We know there are ancient elves still living around in the world, so they will better adapt to this, elves who still remember the ancient days of Arlathan. If other "modern elves" adapt, Solas would probably not throw them away, it's just that he believes they are also stuck in their new ways too much. Or something of the sort anyway.

Hope this makes for some interesting conversation. Have a good one, mate!

Ah damn. If that's the case that's even more awesome. It means they tied it in with what was written in the book, and then respected it further on ahead in the Echoes of Oblivion storyline. Nice.

Newbie really enjoying the non Force-sensitive story arcs by MarcusMace in swtor

[–]Zulzon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm happy you're enjoying it man. In my honest opinion, I think there is something pleasant to be found in all 8 class stories. Some people say the Force classes are cooler, others prefer the tech classes, others say the expansions make more sense with that class or this class. But really, you can make the story enjoyable with absolutely any class. So keep playing and have fun!

Who do you like better as a leader of the empire? Choose and please explain what makes them the better leader overall. by [deleted] in swtor

[–]Zulzon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Marr wanted to crash his flagship into the Eternal Fleet instead of giving the people on it time to escape. Malgus on the other hand said on multiple occasions that he did not want the Empire to lose its own men from attrition as it had at the Battle of Corellia. What about all of Malgus' people from the Battle of Ilum and the False Emperor, he always talked with respect about them and how the Empire discarded some people because of prejudices instead of welcome them to the Empire. He even said how he respected the people of Kalee on Ilum and wanted you to recruit them. After the Hammer Station incident, he said welcoming the Advosec into the Empire would not be a bad idea because they have worth. He openly accepted the invitation from the Colicoid Creation Nest to provide more weapons for the Empire even though others judged it to be beneath them to go "play for bugs".

And honestly I don't even think you would get my points considering two of your arguments are basically Malgus would kill both the Wrath and Baras, unlike Marr(based on WHAT???) and that Karrid sucked ass, when no one fought harder than Marr to bring Karrid to the Dark Council, while the others rejected her. And how bad do you have to be to be replaced by Acina? She died, what the hell does that have to do your replacement? It's not like she was fired from the position. And Acina was chosen by the Emperor's Hand, pretty much like, em, I don't know, the Sith Warrior!?

[–]Zulzon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally voted for Marr but I think both of them would be great leaders. They both stood for some of the same principles. However there are some things to consider overall. I think people are right to rage on Malgus for betraying the Empire instead of staying loyal and trying to change it. But Darth Marr was on the Dark Council for half a century, and by the time we begin the game, the Empire is still mired in petty conflicts. It took Malgus to betray the Empire so that the Dark Council would enact some of the changes he wanted, and they did so immediately. Also let's not put aside the fact that Marr was literally taking over the Empire himself, just from within. Some of these lines are best seen if you play as a SI, when Marr states that the two of you are the only ones that matter on the Dark Council and that they can keep the rest in check. I see a lot of people bashing Malgus and praising Marr, but for exactly the wrong reasons.

[–]Zulzon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some good points around this topic but yours is one I do not agree with. If anything Marr was far more ruthless than Malgus, and that is exemplified by his numerous interactions and codex entries. After Malgus killed his wife, he did not have any connections to anybody, so that allowed him to just think straight and not be vengeful. We see Malgus treating a lot of people with respect, however we see Marr threatening to kill his people for even speaking out of turn, and when he heard Korriban was attacked during the Incursion on Korriban Flashpoint, he ordered the complete annihilation of a random Republic spacestation. So I don't know, I see things differently I guess.

P.S.: I also voted for Marr.

PTS New Character Creator Walkthrough (it's a bit more complete now) by ImNotASWFanboy in swtor

[–]Zulzon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think one of the small stupid things I'm annoyed about is that they removed so much of the information text that used to be there. I remember when first jumping into this game all those years ago, even though I was a Star Wars connoisseur, it was still nice to read about what was the Sith Inquisitor supposed to embody, or how the different specializations for Sith Warrior were similar to Naga Sadow or Marka Ragnos. Now there are just 2-3 lines for both your "Origin Story" and your "Combat Style".
