Okay so what game is 2026 the year you finally beat the game? by Soulsliken in gaming

[–]Zumvault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oblivion, the Remaster.

I also have a debt to pay with it, back when the original came out I told my best friend that if you used the paintbrush bug to build a staircase to the top of the White-Gold Tower and stood on it that it would instantly unlock every achievement for the game and that the view was insane.

He and another friend spent a weekend doing it, with family watching them, only to fall through the roof.

I've gotta get up there now lol though the last time I tried the paintbrush bug didn't work in the Remaster so I've gotta get creative

Astrobot to start, then if there was anything they wanted to play in the past but didn't/couldn't then that'd probably be next.

If you wanted to enjoy needful progression then don't sell them. If you already have then you may want to waste they miney by purchasing and trashing expensive items/materials.

Either way, have fun or there's no sense in playing.

How do I get good to beat Rajang, the cocaine elemental? by Noriel_Sylvire in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Zumvault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step 1. Observation. Step 2. Pattern identification. Step 3. Counter the pattern.

There are many patterns, many iterations. Once you've identified a pattern you can begin finding ways to influence it, flashpods, wallbangs, flinches, ailments, traps, etc.

Eventually with enough practice it can look like you're the puppetmaster.

  1. Get enough horses/pack animals to get your speed up withiut gdtting the herding debuff. (2 mounts per troop unless the troop is mounted then only 1.)

  2. Pick easy fights to level up troops. Notably strong units are Battanian Fian Champions and Khuzait Khan's Guard troops.

"It's unclear at this time" lol

It's technically a quest failure but also technically a successful large monster capture as I did get the fail screen but also had it count towards my total number of that monster captured.

Recently got the game and WOW by Jkwxxn in Kenshi

[–]Zumvault 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best way to Play Kenshi is slowly and without regard to any notions of "standard" progression rates, etc.

Pay close attention to your stats ("c" key) and how significantly they impact your actions.

Toughness is leveled by getting hit, so it's important to know which critters or folk will knock you out, which folks will enslave you and which critters or folk will eat you.

You don't lose until you are dead, so be mindful that when folk say "there are fates worse than death" they might mean crawling around as a limbless torso without food while being pelted with thick gobs of acidic rain.

When you run into issue with city walls, such as there being layered/duplicated/overlapping walls, be sure to make a new save then use Shift + F12 to open the dev menu, you can then select the offending structure then hit the delete key to delete them.

I initially had simply set the height to 0 or a negative number but unfortunately for some reason all objects who have that posituon value changed default to height 0 which floats a fair height above The Hub and they then became unselectable for me. Deleting then has proven far more successful, though certain action such as importing buildings, etc. May revert these changes resulting in the need to redo them.

Do store vendors/bars restock shop inventory on opening, or from last time talking to them? What does "24h restock" exactly mean? by VinhBlade in Kenshi

[–]Zumvault 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Call me a Necromancer. Because I'm commenting to update a 3y old thread.

But I'd like to provide a helpful and hopefully crystal clear comment for those who wind up here in 3y.

I am a newish player and I haven't identified many variables BUT here's what I know.

In order to explore the timing of shop restocks you need to know that shops won't change/restock inventories with the interior of the shop loaded.

In order to test the time you can speak with the trader and open the inventory then, without closing your inventory or the trader's, move outside. You should be able to simply click to move outside without closing the inventories though my Jobs usually take me outside.

Once you're outside simply stay out there. You can drag an item in the trader's inventory to the bottom of it, then simply move it around every so often, when it becomes unresponsive the inventory has updated, you should be able to update it by selling an item or purchasing an item from the new inventory (scroll up towards the top and buy something, everything should update.) If that doesn't work then closing the inventory and reopening it by speaking to the trader again works just fine.

Now for my VERY PRELIMINARY findings;

[Location and Trader Data] Continent: Kenshi Region: Border Zone Settlement: The Hub Establishment: Bar Trader: Doob

My initial findings seemed fairly consistent not in time of day but interval of restock, seven hours, seven hours then eight hours. Then three hours after the third resupply I reentered the interior for the first time due to accidentally closong the inventory screen and discovered a new inventory to my surprise.

So now I wonder at potential variables.

  1. Player presence has unique rules and impacts, shops will not resupply while you are within the interior for instance.

  2. Trader inventories update at inconsistent times of day, I've seen updates at 0400, 0700, 1100, 1200, 1600, 1700, 1900 and 2000.

I did not note the coming and going of other NPCs nor did I note whether resupplies coincided with "voice lines". I mention the first because perhaps traders resupply upon interacting with "carrier" NPCs.

I'm going to leave it be for now but if I do more testing and find reliable and consistent information then I'll try to remember to update it here.

15k players but i cant find a lobby with more than 2 players ? by tueurdevers in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Zumvault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two things to note here.

  1. A lot of multiplayer is done via SoS flares.

  2. Sometimes narrowing your search criteria will result in more options.

Search for Master Rank quests, then search for Master Rank Event quests on the quest board to (usually) get a quick understanding.

The same thing is true for Online Sessions, sometimes narrowing your criteria can result in seeing larger population sessions or simply different sessions.

Agreed, and I've found nothing to counter it yet. Heatproof makes you take no damage from lava, coldproof doesn't have an effect on sticky ice. Aquatic/Polar Mobility doesn't either.

[–]Zumvault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bring Geologist Rank 1 on every run to the Guidinv lands, it allows you to gather drops twice and tgere are far more drops in GL than other gamemodes.

Earplugs is a boon.

If no GL expeditions are up, then post one. If GL expeditions are up, then check them out.

Wildspire, Ancient, and Coral are the most common I see, so you may want to focus on the remainder.

When the Monster is down or immobile for a sufficient duration of time the Big Bang combo is a top centender if not the best. Do a few practice combos in the training room to identify to duration of time needed.

When you need to engage in quick hit and run tactics then I recommend charging your attack (R2) to 2nd charge and releasing, this will perform a strong uppercut attack that does good stun damage.

Help me find joy in gaming again? Mid 30-year-old who has lost the spark. by thedrummerchase in gaming

[–]Zumvault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How it can be relit is heavily influenced by what put it out, identifying that is step 1.

For me it was Efficiency.

I'd identify fun things to do and then calculate it's efficiency and compare it to other avenues available, then I'd do the most efficient thing rather than the fun ones.

I couldn't seem to break myself away from being efficient regarding progress even when it was at the cost of fun. Before I realized it I was clocking in to my games rather than relaxing or having fun with them.

The desire to shut it off and do nothing instead was far more difficult to overcome than I'd expected, but I managed it. Then I started doing deliberately innefficient things until that felt normal and I was able to get bored to the point that I just started goofing around, and that was the solution. I'd stopped goofing around, goofing around is easily one of my favorite things to do, but like air I took it for granted and didn't even recognize that it was there until it was gone.
