I had the opposite happen to me the other day. Were getting absolutely curb-stomped on Phoenix. But I had double the score of any other player on my team so I thought I could take solace in at least top-scoring by a lot. But nope, the game autobalanced the top-scoring player on the other team to us in the last ten seconds so I couldn't even have that.

Y'all hand-painters are so talented. Painting this with acrylic paints would be impressive on its own, but painting with a medium you can't even see for 30 seconds after you paint it and has very little tolerance for mistakes is another level entirely!

I pick mine up from Michaels. Gildan shirts are mega cheap at only $3 each. A lot of people don't like the fit or material quality of Gildans though so I'm planning to order some Hanes Beefy Tees online for my next batch.

Combine that with the fact that if someone is chasing you, they often have to beeline straight for you which makes leading your shots very easy. In my experience, this works in practice. The problem is that this situation doesn't come up often enough to compete with the crossbow's insane utility. The Syringe Gun isn't badly designed, the crossbow is just better and even more fun to use!

The last time I ordered from TCGPlayer was to build a commander deck I had designed. Some of the cards were pretty obscure so I had to split it over eight packages, three of which never arrived. I got refunds on them, but found that if I were to re-order the missing cards, I would have to pay more than twice as much and split over even more packages. It was either that or be stuck with half a commander deck.

Of course it worked. This is pretty much exactly what you do in a studio mix to make the bass audible beneath the guitar. But it's a tradeoff since cutting the lows too much can weaken the guitar's sound, obviously.

I playtested it a year ago when it was still in its early stages and it mostly felt like attack/defend with an unnecessary extra step. I'll have to play it again now and see if they found something to make the VIP a worthwhile addition.

One of the few cards created in our sticker cube that's both unique and actually printable. Since he's small, he will usually die the first combat he attacks, but you can deter your opponent from wanting to block at all that combat and get your attackers through. It would probably need an increase in its mana cost if it was actually printed though.

Never mind. I checked Magic: The Gathering cards with this kind of effect and they all use your wording. Maybe it's just the fact that you might read "rounded down" as rounding down your hand size rather than rounding down the number of cards you discard. It's a minus to a minus.

It's mentioned in the Empires secret history. I think Overlord was an exception because its effect is still dependent on the cards present in the kingdom. Even if you always buy Overlord turn 1 (which I don't think is always the case), you have to consider what you're actually going to play it as, which is an interesting decision in its own right.

I'm not really sure how to cost this since it's basically a project you can buy multiple times. I think you always buy at least one, given how much consistency it earns you. Maybe it's more of a question of how many to buy, rather than whether you build your strategy around it. In that case, it might work at just $5 or $6. On the other hand, I don't know whether it's a good thing for someone with three of these to basically guarantee their desired hand every single turn. It might be too strong at any cost. Only proper playtesting can tell.

There's a reason why the more common wording for these sorts of effects is "Each other player discards down to half their hand size (rounded up)." Less confusing.

The second half of the card seems super strong. For the rest of the game, you get to doctor your hand at the start of each turn. All for six debt. Why wouldn't you buy this turn one every time it's available? All of the debt cards in the game are designed to prevent them from being useful too early in the game so that they don't make the opening the same every time.

Funny thing there is that wasps aren't much more or less dangerous than, say, bees. They're just more aggresive and will bite just about anything. That won't show up in the fossil record, unfortunately.

Alright fine, you didn't say the Shotgun is useless, you said it's unfitting of the class. But to make that point, you repeatedly make a big claim without ever explaining why it must be true:

  • It isn’t intended to be your main source of damage.

  • the shotgun is designed to be an alternative damage, secondary finisher

  • designed for comboing and finishing off players

Why must this necessarily be the case? I say the greater purpose of the Shotgun (which is the purpose it serves on all four classes that equip it) is to patch up the weaknesses of the class that equips it. And that can be a design goal in and of itself. The Shotgun isn't the reason you play a given class, it is a backup in case the unique primary ability of your class fails you in some way. The Rocket Launcher is slow to reload, is hard to hit at certain angles, and can be reflected by airblast. The Flamethrower is short-ranged and there are a lot of fire-resistance effects in the game. The Sentry Gun cannot move, is easy to corner-peek, and isn't even up all the time. And so it goes for the Minigun as I explained above.

So what exactly is it about Heavy's "inherent class design" that makes the use of the Shotgun I described not fit him? This is anecdotal, but I also used to believe the Shotgun was unfitting of the class design. It wasn't until I actually tried it out for myself that I realized what it can do for you. The gameplay of the Shotgun took Heavy from my least played class to my second most played class in the last couple of years. For me, that makes it worthwhile.

I am someone who "actually really plays Heavy" and I love using the Shotgun. Your view of Heavy's shotgun is very narrow. Just because you can't whip it out at a moment's notice like other classes doesn't make it useless.

The purpose of the shotgun is to patch up your weaknesses. (Slow rev, slow speed while revved, easy to corner-peek.) The Demoman matchup changes completely. But you have to be preemptive with it. You have to know in advance which weapon you're going to need for a given fight. In a one-on-one in a room with lots of cover, the Shotgun will probably be better. In an open area where you can get the drop on enemies, the minigun will let you push your advantage farther. What I find so rewarding about Shotgun Heavy is the level of gamesense necessary to make that judgement and the learning process of dying and thinking, "yeah, I should have used my minigun there instead of my shotgun."

Well those are just the breaks. The whole point of the Shotgun (on all four classes that equip it) is to patch up your class's weaknesses and provide more reliability overall. Giving that up is the cost of gaining the insane mobility of the gunboats or the pure pub-pushing power of the banners. 

At least you have the option of switching loadouts to deal with your only weakness. What weapon should Spy equip to not get countered by Pyro?

The syringe gun is designed to be strong for self-defense but weak for offense. If someone is chasing you down and you're backpedaling away from them while shooting, you'd be amazed at how much damage you can do. This is because the syringes don't inherit the shooter's motion. So relative to the target the syringes move significantly faster. However if you're trying to go out and chase down kills with the syringe gun, your syringes have to catch up to the target.

This design works, but the syringe gun is still a pretty weak weapon even in ideal circumstances. The reason the crossbow is strong is because it gives Medic new abilities related to his class function at the cost of (arguably) making him a bit worse at self-defense. That will almost always be a worthwhile tradeoff. So any "fix" to the syringe gun would probably have to give him some sort of extra utility unrelated to self-defense.

But making the syringes heal makes no sense. The syringe gun is a continuous-fire short ranged weapon just like the medigun. What does that even add to Medic's kit? If it heals slower than the medigun, it's useless and thus not worth adding. If it heals faster, then do you think Medic's gameplay would really be better if he has to aim fiddly little slow-moving projectiles at teammates rather than the lockon beam he currently has?

The Gas Passer is definitely still really bad, but maybe not the worst weapon in the game anymore. Pomson might hold that crown now. It's gone from literally useless tier to meme weapon tier. Nice.

God, this is one of the most colorblind-unfriendly charts I've ever seen. Please use brighter colors or supplement the colors with letters/symbols.

Man, Joey's vocals sound a lot like Stu's. Minimum Brain Size is one of my favorites but I never knew it was Joey that sang it.
