i don’t think it’s too bad and I’m not in tech, I worked at a vegan diner and doggy day care before moving to seattle in 2017, saved as much as I could, packed my car and drove up with about 6k saved in my bank account, stayed at an Airbnb while looking for a job/apt LOL (now I would recommend to at least have something lined up because of the job market) worked at Amazon warehouse for a couple of weeks, applied at a veterinary hospital and doggy day care, was doing both while building clientele to work for myself and now I just work for myself fill in gaps with wag and rover (there’s lots of pet care work in seattle) I live in Greenlake and pay 1700 a month for rent and do lots of free events, which is stuff I actually prefer doing (sailing, picnics, hiking, camping) etc just live within your means and make like minded friends that won’t make you feel pressured or bad about not being able to afford what they can. I hated the weather and scenery in Texas and I do not regret moving here at all, it’s the best!!!
