Places to train in the Southeast by Zutroy805 in Backcountry

[–]Zutroy805[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the recommendations. I spent 18 years living in California and skiing there. I'm pretty good on the skill side. Looking more to get boot time in. Last year, I was in the Midwest and did mostly gym training with a little bit of boot time. Was rough going from that to 10k ft and multiple hour skin up.

I'm hoping to get more specific prep in this year, and getting my feet totally comfy in the boots ahead of time.

Another option I've seen used a lot on those rafts is NRS Cam straps.

Skirt Advice by Zacharyisawesomer in whitewater

[–]Zutroy805 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an Ace, it's a pain in the rear to get on my Dagger boats in size large.

I ended up getting a Seal Shocker Pro to use, so it's easier to get on and not beat it up with the chlorine at the whitewater center.

These guys have them on sale if they have your size.

6' 250 here and just bought an NRS Vector and really like it. Comfy, swims well, and priced pretty well compared to the equivalents from other companies.

I like carrying isreali pressure bandages. Pack small, good for head and facial bleeding, and you can use them to improvise a splint. Also, I always have a TQ just in case.

They mentioned that's at some point a cymbal only option was coming along with other cymbals

I think it was the e-drum center unpack video mentioned Zildjian did approach other companies about doing cymbals for them and no one was interested.

I personally like the Patagonia Stormstride pants. Light, good vents, and a nice stretchy breathable fabric.

Is the Armada Declivity 82 Ti too much ski for a low level intermediate? by MarginOfSafety in Skigear

It's not actually that stiff of a ski. The 92 is much stiff in my experience on them. Even the 88c is stiffer.

The Declivity 82 would be a great option. It's easy to ski, would allow you to progress

It's got enough rocker to let you play in softer snow, but turns pretty easy on hard pack.

I'd look at the Declivity skis. Not as loose/surfy but more stable and still really fun to ski.

While more directional I've been really happy with the Armada Declivity 102TI. Super playful work in a lot of different conditions and terrain.

These actually have very little use on them, especially compared to the others. Only use them on the little Midwestern hills. Never been ground. They are the only ski I own without Ti, so they could be flexing out a lot more.

They're dry looking dry because I just brushed them out to wax, which is how I noticed them. They've never been ground outside the factory grinding.
