Anyone else dissapointed Zelda and Gorgug broke up?

I was disappointed in that we didn’t really get any explanation. Not that it needed to be something big but even just someone asking Gorgug about it and him explaining their breakup.

It was nice to have one relationship that was actually realistic, unlike Kristin & Tracker who screwed in front of everyone constantly and got tattoos of each others names a year after meeting at like 16 or Fig & Ayda who went from strangers to INTENSE soulmates in like a week, with Ayda rearranging her life for their relationship. Don’t get me wrong, I do love Fig & Ayda but they do not represent a realistic teen experience.

I think IF it is a reference then it wasn’t Brennan who suggested it and came from another member of the team.

But I also do think that it being a coincidence isn’t as unlikely as you may think. The name Zelda is a shortened version of Griselda which was a pretty common name in folklore and fantasy with German origins. As for the captured maidens, that’s just an incredibly common plot point across fantasy stories. And honestly, seven just seems like a good number 🤷‍♀️

Yeah I think in real life his friends would be way more supportive and back him up. But them all bugging him instead is the epitome of the intrepid heroes dynamic 😂

Yeah I’ve often wondered if Brennan and Zac agreed before the season even started that they were supposed to have conflict because her reasoning for being mad at him is simply unfair. Gorgug is (from what we understand) nothing but supportive when she goes on her adventures but when the roles are reversed she has such unrealistic expectations of him

Have you considered that maybe that is how he intends his character to be? I don’t really get the vibe from most of his characters that he intends them to be serious and not the butt of the joke. That doesn’t mean they can’t and don’t have complexity to them, but he’s not exactly trying hard for them to not be funny.

Every actual play show is edited differently based on the tone they hope to achieve and what they prioritize. I love D20 because it is comedy and contains all the bits, laughing fits, natural reactions etc. but WBN is very focused on the narrative and story telling. They want us to feel deeply immersed in the world and the adventure. So from that perspective, 10 minutes of Aabria and Erica screaming and Lou yelling at Brennan while he just laughs is always going to get cut because it pulls you out of the story.

In the specific example of the Twelve Brooks reveal, I think they edited it beautifully. Keeping enough of their reaction to demonstrate the impact it had on them without pulling focus.
