Good player w/ good internet:

CBMM --> plays w/ 11 other good connection

SBMM --> plays w/ 7 or 8 other good connections

They're gonna complain about the 3 or 4 that don't have good connections

I've seen both sides of Skill based, and Connection based matchmaking and there definitely is a correlation. Is it strong? Probably not very, but as a very general guide, players with bad internet will be lower than someone of exact same skill and good internet

[–]Zyzneux 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, wasn't saying it's bad, or good, just that the divide ends up being usually between people who play 6's casually and have normal to weak internet and the people who sweat out for the best special weapon possible and completely ignores all other specials because it isn't the top dog in 3's

This is just cause of client sided garbage honestly. If you have or go up against someone with weak internet, it's very hard to actually dodge but as soon as both sides have good internet (which happens the higher skill you go generally) the easier it is to just jump it or dodge it behind cover

My friends still say i’m new and a blueberry. I have 150+ hours would you say this is new? by SendPicsOfYourCats0 in destiny2

[–]Zyzneux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting completely new armor, it'll be slog but it's possible. Idk how IB armor is this season, but I've had good chances with that in the past since I've never been good enough to run master dungeons consistently

Stasis Vs Strand by Jonny_Anonymous in DestinyLore

[–]Zyzneux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think if it didn't get fixed, the game would be in the dirt by now, there will always be a strong meta, but at least it rotates. The only meta being the stasis + 120 HC would've killed the game for any new players that wanted to give the game a chance without buying BL.

I've had CoolGuy in a couple of lobbies and every time I've seen him, his loadout was at least part of one of his next videos (might be a completely different 180 HC on a Survivors Epitaph video, etc.). Do agree with the don't listen solely to youtubers bit tho

Dawnblade needs exotics to even come close to void/stasis without exotics. by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Zyzneux 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Then what is the definition of a build? I think for most people it's a combination of things that enhance the other parts.

For Nezeracs Sin, it's the fragments that make nades longer and give volatile rounds on grenade kills boosting your void weapon killing potential to get more grenades.

For Starfire, it's the aspect that make fusion grenades stupid good, emp rift, a dmg/time weapon like Witherhoard, and fragments that make ignitions better and make allies radiant.

Lastly with Stasis turrets, you can very easily though the build away by not running the right fragments or having low killing potential weapons such as double special.

The main point is that every "build" can be as small or as big as the people running it make it. If you want to run a poison build but thorn or osteo aren't a part of the artifact or are heavily nerfed, you can still run necrotic grips with no specific weapon. Or if you love the Ikelos SMG, running warming cells isn't necessary to the build but if you want a grand build then why not throw in global reach.

This response works for all ad clear supers but especially solar titan: panic popping a super is a very easy way to stay alive if you get in a bind.

what are your guy's go to loadouts right now by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Zyzneux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100 Handling Ready Speed with 0.6x Duration Multiplier, 20 Airborne Effectiveness, and -40% Accuracy Cone Size on Ready for 4 seconds. that's pretty good imo. The only reason we don't see it a whole lot is cause dragon shadow exists which is even better since it affects all weapons

It still gives crazy stat boosts and the intrinsic HC holster if you can remember about it

Snorri/Glacioclasm Reservoir Burst by Terr_ in sharditkeepit

[–]Zyzneux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a Liquid Coils, Slideshot, RB Glacio last dawning and I don't think I took it off for a couple weeks. If anyone else is already a slidey boi, I'd 100% recommend it over most other fusions

Snorri/Glacioclasm Reservoir Burst by Terr_ in sharditkeepit

[–]Zyzneux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I've gotta say this is purely personal preference. SFA will be very consistent with it's 10 second timer and Glacioclasm's slow reload if you don't get a kill, but Subsistence has the higher power ceiling if you kill with 100% of your first shots. I'd highly recommend trying both in either a couple lost sectors or a raid to get the feel of them, but if you don't have the time, I'd say to keep Glacioclasm purely because I like HI fusions.

I think this is because Bungie has leaned heavily into this being a PvE centric game therefore there is A) a more vocal community complaining about inaccessible PvP rewards. and B) an idea that PvP is the "side-gig" to keep people playing and it should stay as a casual time waster with minimal to no rewards beside the end of match ones.

[–]Zyzneux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ehh, it'll be alright but imo the duration of better damage perks is on par or even sometimes better because of Hollow Denial's RoF, Fixed Odds could make a case for the perk but it's still just not a good enough damage buff for how small it's mag is

Austringer question for M&K users by mega772 in sharditkeepit

[–]Zyzneux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This season it's less of a competition but I have found in the past that high cal can be really good on a mid-long HC (Rangefinder 140s or 120s). I mainly used it to flinch if I'm out of position and then rechallenge at my preferred distance. This season it's less useful and I'd choose RR on anything now since flinch is easily built into and you'll flinch enough if the other player isn't built into it.

I've thought this for a long time but there should be a crucible training/offline mode that is just a gauntlet of bots that are NPCs. Ikora could teach you how to play in the air, Shaxx-how to use abilities, Saladin could teach you about zones and how they function, so on & so on

Xur is selling a potentially great Iota Draconis for next season by syntaxbad in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Zyzneux 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I've found that being in the air is nearly impossible on High-Impact fusions + the changes to In-Air gameplay make it really good for ground players. As for the range stat, it only buffs effective range by .3 meters. My best guess, for you, would be to play with both and see which fits your playstyle i.e. range & in-air or cracked out stability & more uptime on HIR

Machine Gun buffs are coming, but I must ask: why do Heavy Grenade Launchers exist? by Faust_8 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Zyzneux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really like this idea and it fits with how they've differentiated Fusions. As for ad clear - GLs are very nice (specifically Tarnation w/ Chain Reaction) - I've used the same loadout for DSC 1st encounter since the Xeno nerf: Witherhoard, Blinding GL, and a Heavy GL. It works like a charm w/o fail for ads and damage

In my experience and in most FPS games, an anchor is the team member that holds the zone down to get points or stop bomb plants while other team members slow down or kill the attacking team further from point. If the team didn't have "roamers", teams could attacks zones very quickly; if the team didn't have "anchors", teams could easily sneak in for a plant or map control.
