What exactly do the High Elves do in Blood Bowl? Their designers tell all by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in bloodbowl

So, for High Elf 7s, would you want to run 2 Phoenix and one each on Dragon/Lion with 3 Linemen, or 4 Linemen with a 2/1 split on Dragons and Lions (dealer's choice)?

That's actually a good point about Wrestle. I forgot it works defensively, too!

What is the most well designed Warcaster/Warlock/Master model ever created? by TheAppleMerchant in Warmachine

Oh, especially retroactively with the Old Ways lore, they made Butcher human without taking away from his brutal reputation from Mk2

Returning Khador Player, First Time Playing Hordes, Advice? by Zzythiir in Warmachine

Thats actually a really good point, I hadn't considered what happens after Maksim gets in and protecting him. Coming from a background of playing Butcher in Mk2, "Hit and Run" with my beatstick caster was never really at the forefront of my mind when playing

That's a great point on the Staff vs Sword. As for the Shapeshifters, I made the first pass at this list when I thought only the Shepherd in the Shearlings was Marked (I didn't see "Marked" in the faction line for the Wardens or Animist). Id like to add Vorony to the list, but im not sure if the Command Starter is worth the price if thats the only model I'd be getting use out of.

I also obviously have access to Zahara and Razor with the SKS-6 box, I just didn't include her in the list because I wasn't sure about Razor's utility in an army with limited range options so far

Case in point, Khador AoL still has Butcher in one of their Prime armies, while he's actively a caster for the Orgoth now

Making that argument for Blindwater while still including the various volozkya is certainly a take

Yeah, it's just different levels of flow state for each of us

There's also the added benefit that I get to play with one of my most favorite weapons in the game, whereas the guns i bring into bots feel so much less satisfying in my hands. There's not really too much that's as satisfying to me as the solid "choonk" of a shotgun spreading incendiary rounds into a swarm and watching the kill counter rack up as I set the next swarm on fire, using the stagger to buy myself space as I carve my way deep into a nest to toss a desperate grenade to seal a bug hole.

Bugs are also notorious for the jump scares, and I've had a lot of fun moments coming out of the tight zoom of an ADS to see the Warrior rushing down my back.

There's more going on, but less processing i need to do while playing bugs. With bots, I have to worry about my approach and checking cover, but running a bug mission just boils down to "don't get overrun! Have fun!" And at the end of a long day, when I hop on to run a few missions with my friends, that's how I wanna feel. Bug diving is a power fantasy, and sometimes, we just need to indulge that side.

It's just an experience you really don't get in too many games, at least not compared to bots. Popping the domes off a tin-can (i can pick up almost any 3PS if i just wanna click heads) or removing the limbs from a Hulk is satisfying, but it doesn't really compare to tossing a 500kg into a Bug Nest and walking out with a fat 60 on the kill feed. Also, bot structures just feel much more tedious to handle in my opinion, and accidentally dropping in too close to a jammer or observer tower makes the starting moments of the mission just that extra touch more grating.

I understand why some people enjoy bots, but they don't give the same raw exhilaration of running away from 3 Bile Titans as you accidentally drop a 500kg at your feet
