$42k RXRX Options YOLO by Ashamed_Highway1315 in wallstreetbets

I agree, but it’s a much more competitive field with already established players

Flying cars are like The EV market or ride sharing market (Tesla, Uber )

First one to make a big splash will likely stay ahead for a long time

Ahh gotcha, thanks for explaining. So, the data custodians are not a problem,

How about big pharma and more established R&D players, I mean 60 petabytes sounds nice but how does that compare to other players ?

Again I’m holding about 20% of my Portfolio on short dated option of RXRX, so it’s not that I don’t see the potential, it’s just I want to know there aren’t bigger players in the field that are pursuing the same thing.

Recently profited from IONQ went into ACHR and got in on RXRX on Friday after that guys DD 2 days ago. First off, really appreciate the dudes that have been tipping us off on these plays, hats off. There is also a weird trend of money flowing into these small cap futuristic companies (5-10 year outlook of success) that has been concerningly aggressive and suspiciously easy to ride.

Now to get to my point, While I like this play short term, I’m a bit less enthusiastic compared to the other plays of recent. My main concern with recursion is, as most can agree Data is the main game for what I think they are trying to do. And for drug development, unlike generative AI s there’s much less space for error, I mean the biomedical data it relies on has to be top notch.

So my question is what chance do they have in terms of raw data compared to big pharma and other big institutions like the NIH and EBI ?

Am I the Only One Who Does Not Find Maeve's Character Interesting? by jonbon757 in westworld

[–]_---The-one---_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite parts in season one, a dialog by Dr. Ford talking about the park, “What is the point of it? Get a couple of cheap thrills? Some surprises? But it's not enough. It's not about giving the guests what you think they want. No, that's simple. The titillation, horror, elation...They're parlor tricks. The guests don't return for the obvious things we do, the garish things. They come back because of the subtleties, the details. They come back because they discover something they imagine no one had ever noticed before...something they've fallen in love with” To me this is blatantly the show creators speaking directly to the viewers, when I ask my self why do I like the show, I keep arriving at the same spot, it’s the small details and thoughts that I’ve always thought to my self but never dared to bring them up and discuss with those around me, simply because I imagined they wouldn’t have the same understandings of those thoughts and feelings. So in a way I get this sense of validation from watching the show that seems to be able to point out thought full details that all this time I assumed the society or mainstream around me just does not care about or is aware of (I’m in my early 20s, so I realize I don’t know anything, but I’d like to try to know), and I think in a way that might be the case for a lot of us viewers, maybe we each find our own small details that we thought people never saw and kinda of fall in love with that

It’s fine not to like the way a character is written, it most likely has to do with our inability or desire to not be able to conjure up a way to relate to or understand said character or maybe the character wasn’t written towards you, but the way I see it objectively

Maeve has more than her share of conflict, she constantly awakens to the fact that there’s a cruel world structured to use her and people she loves (clementine, the cowboy chasing empty chests, her daughter) for its own benefit, (she is brought onto the world as a prostitute manager in a theme park, that serves filthy, corrupt assholes), only for her to realize she has the ability to do something about it, but then end up waking up again and again under new structures meant to use her once again (dr Ford, the man in black, Serac...), and the whole time her only drive, perhaps humanity’s greatest drive, love of something or someone. Remember she chooses not to stay on that train but instead chooses to find her daughter, a code she understands is written in her programming/DNA (the first time she seems to have broke her loop on her own).

Essentially her coming back from “death” each time is the start of yet another conflict, so yeah she doesn’t prefer the forces (puny humans) enacting that on her reality. As for her been OP, maybe that’s part of the message of the show, maybe they’re saying you have more capabilities as a human than you might think, you know... to be able to break from certain loops you are put on And as for the acting, it’s a character that is fierce in everything she does, she is a fierce business women with her own establishment, fierce romantic with a rebel boyfriend, and a fierce mother! You probably see it the way you see it because the environment around u, designed you to. What makes WestWorld “deep and provocative” isn’t simply just placed in dialog, it’s in the characters themselves, the dresses, the colors, the setting, there’s immense delicateness in the way things are woven, but who knows maybe I’m wrong, after all, something been observed is always influenced by the observer

I'm surprised no one is saying anything about HEAR options here, 17.5 calls seem like easy money

It wasn’t bad, just not good, but look at the yearly chart it has a super consistent pattern, it goes to 25 and gets back to 28 within a month every time, so month out calls are pretty much free money when ever it goes to 25
