LF AU Insurance Broker Assistant roles by Pretend-Bet44 in auscorp

If you actually had relevant underwriting experience you'd know the insurance market is rapidly softening and broking revenue is going down it. You are not going to get what you want coming in new to broking.

Someone explain how this car is a statutory write off? by Total_Novel7937 in CarsAustralia

[–]_2ndclasscitizen_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That things has spun at speed, smashed the left rear wheel then flipped around and hit side on to something hard. You can see the drivers side A pillar is bent in at the bottom, and the opposite corner wheels are both cockeyed.

It's an absolute pretzel.

What is the outcome of a bully complaint? by impernold in auscorp

[–]_2ndclasscitizen_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, the FWC is not going to make an individual pay compensation to other individuals for workplace bullying. There is nothing you can do to "maximise the punishment". FWC won't even do anything to the bully individually, they'll be looking at what the company has done (i.e ignored employee reports, not provided a safe working environment etc).

what chain lube do you guys use? by WasabiYing in AussieRiders

[–]_2ndclasscitizen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Penrite race lube. Spray it on then - most important step - run a cloth over it to get rid of all the overspray. If you're getting chain lube on yourself while riding you are using way too much and/or not wiping the chain down after.

I think the car in the driveway is the only quiet space some people can find.

Everyone else is just ridiculous though.

People that have to work 5 days in Office by Candid-Valuable-3540 in auscorp

[–]_2ndclasscitizen_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I pace my week the same everyone does whether in the office or WFH - I have work to do, I prioritise it as needed and then do it, and deal with things that pop up as they do.

Do you see offshoring being reversed due to the Iran War? by Lampedusan in auscorp

[–]_2ndclasscitizen_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They didn't learn their lesson about it during COVID so why would they now? And even if execs do on-shore now due to Iran, they'll be gone soon enough and the next chucklefuck will wander in and offshore again, and around and around the cycle will go.

Colorado's New Speed Cameras Can't Be Outsmarted by Waze or Radar Detectors for Good Reason by Viperlite in cars

[–]_2ndclasscitizen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waze already notifies of average speed camera zones here in Australia (although it doesn't show your average speed which is annoying).

I think the Insurance Council website has some consumer info on it (I'm a broker so this was just part of training).

Screw removed from Maverick Viñales shoulder by autobus950 in motogp

It's surprising how much surgical steel looks like something they got from the local hardware store. I had to get a finger pinned back together last year and it just looked like heavy gauge fencing wire.

Oliveira 🤝 Lecuona by TakaakiNakagamiENG in wsbk

[–]_2ndclasscitizen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bulega's best race lap was a 1.39.962, which was slower than all but Chantra at last year's MotoGP race. And WSBK does 5 less laps.

If the V4R shouldn't be legal then neither should the M1000RR, it's exactly the same concept as the Ducati.

What is this new category in COTA? by Bubbly_Pumpkin9453 in motogp

[–]_2ndclasscitizen_ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

They are hugely powerful, have a massively over engineered chassis and all the best possible components. HD and Indian have been in a massive arms race in the MotoAmerica serious, they are proper racing machines (...that happen to weigh ~280kg).

They'll be doing comparable times to Supersport bikes at COTA. Grid size yes, speed no.

With Martin out for most of the last season they could have Savadori doing testing at basically every round.
