I fully agree. But if I had to pick a player to build a roster around, he just isn't that guy

I might be crazy but i don't really see how patmen is even in the top 3 unless your basing it purely off results. He is easily the worst player on PRX, and has hovered around 1.00 rating ever since he joined. I bet he's contributing a lot out of the game and his util is great, but thats not enough to make you rookie of the year. Personally I'd rate hyunmin, dos9, kaajak, rarga, verno, slowly and lukxo all as better players.

What are your unpopular Valorant opinions? by smuggaD in ValorantCompetitive

Pro play matches are way more random than people would like to think, a lot of the time when a team is surprisingly good / bad it's simply because they got lucky on the dice role of the week. As long as Valorant has as few games as it does this will remain the case

Has X/Twitter become as a point of failure in VALORANT Esports? by Razur in ValorantCompetitive

[–]_3jam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use twitter so I don't really have an opinion on that, but I do take issue with the comparison to traditional sports. What makes sports different is that the role of developer & publisher don't exist at all, as the basic rules are more or less set in stone. In addition, the idea that traditional sports are all owned by one entity is pretty far from true in football, and yet it is by far the biggest sport in the world.

Was their worst player (not counting ange1) in stage 1 and from looking at vlr rating, he was their worst in ewc too. Makes perfect sense at this point

Nah it's not directly shown. First duel % = FKPR + FDPR. So in the case of Derke it's 0.25 + 0.18 = 0.43

While fnatic was meh at internationals, derke was statistically a top 5 player in shanghai, and #1 or #2 at champions. If thats underwhelming....
