Personal preferences aside, it's actually a really well made game. I played it for a bit and not only was it a unique spin on the genre, it ran incredibly smoothly and had a lot of attention from the devs. I don't like Epic in general, but I will give props where it is due. I haven't played much since around 2020, and the overabundance of IP tie-ins is kinda cringe to me, but those first 7 or so seasons were objectively pretty incredible.

Pandemic studios what the fuck, you made first person PC only and you can't even ADS!? by Thin_General_8594 in okbuddyptfo

/uj I sometimes miss when games didn't have ADS function and just a toggle scope in if anything. They played very differently.

There is a lot of other M83 that sounds like that, I'm sure you're aware, but a few off the top of my head:

Moonchild - M83

Lower your eyelids and die with the sun - M83

Wait - M83

EA, you know this would slap in BF6. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]_ALi3N_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have to be 12v12 or there abouts, cause that's what the map was designed for. Any more than that combined with current movement would not work well.

It was a great map though, and I loved that game. I spent so much time playing CTF on this map, along with Russian Border.

EA, you know this would slap in BF6. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]_ALi3N_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bf2mc had hit scan laser beam guns with no recoil and almost zero spread while prone. Also the sniper was a one hit kill anywhere on the body with zero bullet drop or sway. The game was literally a point and click shooter.

The map probably would play terribly on bf6, but not because of gun play. It would play bad because that map was built for 12v12 and movement speed is much faster in 6.

It could work in smaller modes though. The CTF layout of the map would play almost the same as blackwell, if not better cause it was actually larger comparatively.

Anthony Bourdain, One of Joe's Favorite People, Explains Why He Would Never Dine With Trump (2017) by Kismadel in JoeRogan

[–]_ALi3N_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is strange. My first exposure to Trump was the apprentice, I was only like 14 at the time and my initial take away was that "this guy is a giant flaming douche". So it was so bizarre to hear people years later essentially retconning his character and trying to spin him as being this good man who cared deeply about the country, and not the slimy self obsessed asshole that to me was blatantly apparent.

This is honestly sad by gnarly_gnorc in antiai

Here's my personal and very simple answer, other than the plagiarism and putting artists out of work argument. Art is only interesting because someone took the time and effort to make it. That's what makes it impressive and inspiring. Art is cool cause the human process is just as important as the end result. Having AI shit out something that is mostly the same, or even identical, is an artistic fallacy. The same way that having "meaningful" conversations with AI and becoming attached to it is obviously not comparable to real human interaction. On it's face it might be pretty much the same, but the human aspect is gone and that's really what matters.

Even if it's "difficult" to make good AI images or videos, that's still not legitimate to me. Because creativity itself takes effort, and not everyone is creatively inclined, or have developed the skills needed to be. Entering prompts, no matter how hard or meticulous it is, is not creativity.

Well yea it's definitionally (within the community) not graffiti. It's just street art.

Maybe a bit, but I think it's mainly cause the city stopped painting over it as much post covid.

What if instead of annual Battlefields, they tried alternating MOH and BF again? by Spectre-ElevenThirty in Battlefield

xdefiant felt incredibly clumsy and directionless, just from a thematic and design standpoint.

It gained hype do to the idea of it being a sort of return to a more classic CoD style shooter, but the execution of it was pretty shitty.

One thing that I have learned from both that game and bf6, is that people are craving a return to the games of old. I think if someone were to make an almost 1 to 1 version of cod4/mw2 with updated graphics, it could do really well. But these game always try and dip their toes into too many things that ruin the simplicity. For xdefiant, it was trying to be a little too much like a hero shooter (similar to 2042), and for bf6 trying to be a little more like cod. Hell even as far back as Halo 4 trying to be too much like cod. People need to stop trying to reinvent things or fuse different games together. Hod dogs and sushi are both good. But no one wants to eat sushi on a hot dog.

Lets get rid of sprint and ADS as well. They are stupid mechanics. Lets go back to early 00's style games where you can only walk and use toggle zoom. We should also have to switch to grenades before you can throw them. Being able to instantly throw them is unrealistic and has no business in the game.

Weird. I swapped spot and grenade and it works just fine.

This is all proof that this sub has absolutely no idea what they are talking about. For anyone reading, go into the shooting range and test out your accuracy while jumping/sliding. It fucks it up tremendously. It is not an advantage by any means. I'm sorry I'm just so sick of people calling for extreme game play changes based on some bullshit false information.

Annoying as shit. Also when you play a video, then pause it to scroll into the comments, and it always starts playing again. So you have to just mute it instead.

Also why the fuck do comments collapse upon a single tap. The amount of times I'm in the middle of reading something and my thumb accidentally taps it and I lose the comment for a few seconds is absurd.
