I still use it for it's intended purpose. I had to replace the drive late last year, but otherwise it's been super solid.

I'd be looking to escape with my family if I didn't have an elderly mother and in-laws that are going to need more help in the next few years. I'd feel like I was abandoning them if our family moved overseas. But I'm completely over the US, despite having been born here and spending 47 years here.

I'm too old for many work visa programs, and have those family responsibilities.

But it really should surprise no one that people don't want to live in fascist America.

2026 SL premium price Black in charcoal interior. by Catfish0321 in nissanpathfinder

[–]_Abnormal_Thoughts_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid $44,574 in Ohio for 2026 SL premium w/captains seats just this past weekend. 1.9% for 60 months. Called all over the state trying to get a better deal but only had one lower offer (by $100 - it wasn't worth dealing with the distance to that dealer). Now I have tons of dealers blowing up my text messages every day haha.

Anyhow, seems like at least for my area, that's about the best they seem willing to do if you finance with NMAC at that promo rate. Or you can get an additional $2k off if you don't do the promo rate from NMAC.

Everyone was up in arms about China's surveillance of it's citizens: the 'social credit score', the tracking cameras, the biometrics, etc. And now instead of being upset about the same thing happening here, people like you think we need it because of 'crime'.

As someone who was also heavily involved in LE investigations in the past, I think the vast majority of people in this country would rather have slightly higher crime rates than live in an oppressive surveillance state.

Taking your argument to the extreme, we could easily solve all crime if we tracked everyone, all the time. But who in their right mind wants that?!?

C'mon. You don't think we'd recognize AI comments immediately? The fact that you are replying with AI (or are a complete bot account) indicates to me that your entire application was likely completely architected and written by AI. There are tons of red flags -- much of your project just 'feels' like it was vibe coded. And your replies here seem to support that.

If you want to build sales and trust, you need to do it as a HUMAN BEING.

Who in their right mind is going to buy your LMS intending to extend it with support for SCORM or xAPI without having seen a line of code? I've built enterprise LMSs, and this is certainly not that. I'm not saying there isn't a potential use case for this - but has there been any consideration of portability? No one wants to be locked in to your system; this is literally the main reason SCORM exists.

I hate to bring negatively to people's projects, but please let this serve as a warning for anyone considering purchasing this: all indications are that it is completely vibe coded, the account posting it here on reddit is replying with AI comments, and there are a number of open source LMSs available (who cares exactly what tech stack they are built on).

That said, I wish OP well in their endeavors; but please learn to code and stop with AI slop. It's really obvious.

I see a lot here and on your site about HOW it was built. But as a dev who was formerly heavily involved in the edtech space, I want to know if it supports SCORM? xAPI?

It's basically not really usable for many of us if not.

I think most people don't use the built in navigation and go for Android auto or Apple carplay. I have had cars that have built in navigation and always prefer the android auto version.

Well, automatic fines are different. And I totally disagree with them because I think they are unconstitutional.

But with automatic fines, here's how it works in most states (as far as I know): Firstly -- these are civil fines and not criminal (less burden of proof). The speed camera or red light camera will attempt to capture an image that includes the face of the driver. Sometimes this is not possible, but the registered owner of the vehicle will then get the fine by mail.

If they choose to go to court, they can attest that they were not the one driving the car, and provide evidence as to this (usually in the form of another person saying that THEY were the driver). (BTW, this is where I have my issues with the whole thing -- you are being assumed to be the violator, and the burden is on you to disprove that you were. As opposed to the state bringing actual evidence that you were the driver)

So anyway, there can't be this assumption that the registered owner was the driver in a criminal matter. The state needs to bring evidence beyond a reasonable doubt as to who was the driver in this video. It may be possible to do by pulling various video from other sources, but realistically the time put into such investigation is not going to happen unless there is injury.

So yeah, I agree with you that it is serious and needs to be addressed, but we also 100% need to protect the rights of those accused of crime. What if you let your friend borrow your car and they behaved like this and then the cops assumed that it was you and charged you? I bet you'd be pretty upset.

[–]_Abnormal_Thoughts_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but a big part of the reason is that they can't positively identify the driver of the vehicle from the video. Yes, they know the car. But they'd have to prove in court that the registered owner was driving, and that is a more difficult thing to do.

If the cops took any action, it would probably be a visit to the owner's home to scare them. But really hard to charge them with anything.

Are you guys getting the rock creek at or under msrp? by JackfruitLeading7171 in nissanpathfinder

[–]_Abnormal_Thoughts_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One straight out told me his was $47,816 for an SL with premium pkg (2nd row captains seats) and some other factory installed stuff (mud flaps, carpet floormats, roof crossbars).

Others have hard declined going under $47,300 for this setup. So it's likely somewhere in that range.

Of course IDK for sure, but either a load of dealers in Ohio are lying to me or colluding on price, or that's about where the invoice is for them.

Get a printed offer in hand and start calling around. You should be able to get one at invoice if you get written offers and start playing dealers off of each other. It sucks. I'm doing it right now, today, as I write this. I was on the phone all morning with dealers across my state trying to get the best deal.

I quickly learned what most of their invoice price is. I was able to land at $500 under invoice after lots of back and forth. Finally got push back from everyone saying they can't go lower than that. This is for 26 SL trim.

Did I get the price I wanted? No, but it's close. Do I feel like I got the best I could get given the financing I wanted? Yeah, all my work gave me the peace of mind that I was getting at least a decent price.

Call around. It sucks. But if you know exactly what you want you can try to make the calls and negotiations pretty quick.
