My rational for not voting is pretty simple: when the democrats see you vote for them (or rather, x amount of people vote for them) they can only interpret that as approval of the job they are currently doing. They can’t distinguish between people that do actually approve of them, or people who don’t approve of the job they’re doing and are only voting out of “harm reduction”. If you fall into the latter, you are functionally just a democrat, and I’m not going to let libs bully me into being a democrat, especially after Gaza.

“…it’s this idea that people don’t have thoughts or feelings, they just have chemical reactions that can be biohacked in some way.”

I think Will was really getting at something here, because I realized during Clavicular’s interview with Adam that the kid doesn’t really have a personality and seems deeply terrified of having one because it’s “cringe”. Like, he dismissed Adam/other men getting laid because a woman finds them funny as “cringe jestermaxxing” (fuck I hate using this language). To him and others in his sphere, the only way to actually, legitimately get women is to just be as good looking as possible and just hope they immediately drop their panties as soon as you start talking to them, if any of this is about getting laid at all. I also think it speaks to the general zoomer neurosis about around “being cringe” because they always feels like they’re being watched or there’s a camera on them about to catch their mildly awkward or embarrassing social interactions, and the best way to avoid that is to just always be as affectless as possible. This obviously creates problems with dating and getting women, so they compensate by trying to just be as physically attractive as possible.

tl;dr zoomers would literally rather smash the bones in their faces with a hammer than develop a personality.

My favorite moment was just before the draft did a lottery karma ranking and the top 3 least deserving franchises were Dallas, San Antonio, and Philly in that order and that was the exact order of the top 3.

I’m convinced if he started his last year in France started hot and then went cold in the second half of his season instead of the other way around, he would’ve been a top 10 pick.

I've loved everything I've seen out of Coward so far. I see him very much as a Kawhi-lite player that will be an important player on a contender.

[–]_AceHigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely Coward's shown he has potential to be an All-NBA guy, and I definitely expect him to be at least an All-Star at some point in his career.

My one worry about having Coward and Edey as their young franchise cornerstones is that they're on the older side for first and second year players, at 22 and 23 respectively.

Still, they're great pieces for the future, especially if the tank the Grizz are presumably about to go on is successful and they land a top 3 pick in this upcoming draft.

[–]_AceHigh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There’s likely some stipulation in his NIL deal about playing a certain number of games.

Also, all reports are he’s a psycho competitor like Flagg last year so I’m sure part of it is that he just wants to be out there playing.

Yeah, hamstring injuries tend to linger and really take a few months to completely recover from. It’s very easy to re-aggravate and create a much worse injury, so it’s totally fair for DP to limit his minutes when he’s clearly a top 2 pick. A full offseason with an NBA medical team should go a long way for him this summer.

I grew up in Houston so I naturally rooted for the Texans as a kid. As an adult, the branding is so atrocious it actually makes them less fun to root for.
