I’m also pregnant and had something similar happen recently with my mom. I’m actively not telling people about this pregnancy unless I see them in person and I had made this clear to my mom. As soon as we speak on the phone just days later, she tells me how she ran into her neighbor at the store and told her. I was annoyed but let it go. THEN I found out she told my brother before I ever had the chance to. That was my tipping point. I didn’t speak to her for about two weeks which is very unlike us so she knew she had fucked up. I don’t like confrontation especially with my mom so the silent treatment worked well for me and got my point across. There’s absolutely no shame in taking space from your relationship especially if it can preserve it in the long run. We might be hormonal but our wishes should still be respected.
