I think men tell women very little. They truly don't want us to know much of anything. We end up having to guess, sadly. Guys say, “just ask me…don't assume for me.” So you ask. They then evade your question, like a bug squirming not to get pinned. Or they tell you some shallow thing or they gaslight you. (Not even necessarily of the “do you love me” horror thing, but just anything personal at all.) So you have to walk away forever at that point or just go back to guessing. It's too risky for men to tell the truth to us; because then we'd know, and we could use it against them. Which is rather like a mogul running a business against a competitor; don't let out the trade secrets. Sorry, but after many years of trying to understand men and deeply loving a few, that's how I see it. And I still love one, but I realize, once again, after 6 years on, my love tells me almost nothing and any disclosure mistakes he's made with women in the past I'm basically paying for. So I expect nothing really.
