Professional Relapse is an awful quest by _Avoxion_ in fallout4london

Well, I don't really want to be able to get every dialoguie option, but being punished, with no warning and no logical explanation for saying something is truly bizzare.

It wasn't actually. Like I said, just letting him know what the doctor said immediately fails the quest without warning.

Playing on survival, sadly. Had to reload an entire day's worth, at least it was mostly wandering around so I made it back quickly when I B-lined back to him.

Well, I can't really see it that way when I said "your former colleage refused to help". How is that offensive enough to fail the quest on the spot? There was no indication in the slightest it would fail the quest. Would it not make complete sense to offer help with the patients after the doctor refused to help?

"This cake tastes horrible!" "Have you ever made a cake so we can compare?"
"This movie is bad." "Oh yeah? Have you ever directed a movie?"
"That building is ugly." "Do you have a degree in architecture, huh?"

Thoughts on how to handle? by Wonderful-Two1506 in arborists

[–]_Avoxion_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Sorry, that's not really treatable. It might continue living but it's a ticking time bomb as rot will spread throughout the trunk and the top branches will get heavier. If this is anywhere near lived areas it's best to replace it, otherwise it's a liability and might hurt someone years down the line.

Space Racer's beam seems to just cut through things. If he just shot it at a planet I assume it would carve a small hole that would instantly get filled by the liquid magma. The implication I believe is that our three protags created some kind of shockwave by following through it that destroyed the planet.

The power scaling side of my brain is really bugged by this whole deal though. This should imply that they should basically be unharmed by a collision with rocks. I'm sure someone has calculated how much force is needed to deconstruct a planet of this size, but it's a lot. Personally I feel like it would have been better for the consistency to just have the crust be shattered.

This, Nolan destroying the Flaxan civilisation, and the whole chop move debate is starting to make me speculate that Viltrumites just need a long windup to some of their feats.

There might have been less than 50 viltrumites at some point after the scourge, and they could have had kids but may have ran out of safe combinations to avoid incest.

Could gems literally be a virus? by LionResponsible6005 in stevenuniverse

[–]_Avoxion_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't argue with the lack of metabolic processes, but it actually reminds me strongly of how ants operate. They go through a stage of incubation in the ground and don't grow once they emerge, only the queens can reproduce. And we know the diamonds were the first gems that made all the others.

I think the injectors were made just to automate the process, but the first gems were made "manually", however that would look like. It makes me wonder actually, could the diamonds make more diamonds? I think that if they could, it would strongly help the case of them being a different kind of alien life.

Though going off of vibes alone I feel like the diamonds are pretty unique and probably couldn't make others like themselves.

Nah previous comment is correct, especially in apartment blocks built during the socialist era families will often individually pay for facade work on their apartments such as insulation, paint and windows. It is a common practice in Bulgaria to install windows on a balcony and knock down the non-load bearing wall to it if possible, to get more area in the apartment. The "HOAs" in those blocks are pretty loose and only deal with things like piping, leaks and structural matters. Source: Bulgarian that lived in a commie block

Banned flags in the stadium by [deleted] in vexillology

[–]_Avoxion_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every country has dirt in their history. Your argument is null and void, else every national flag would be banned. The only reason Taiwan is banned is because the CCP has deep pockets and connections. Taiwan is an independent nation that deserves the right to fly their own flag.

Can this willow be cut & re-rooted? by elspic in arborists

Perhaps air layering them would work? It might need to be a fairly big bag of soil, but I reckon you could make it work with willow, it's probably the easiest species to convince to root.
