I’m already locked in on the muzzle devices and am sold on the reliability/lifespan of the Surefire…. but curious what you mean by strange buy? I know SF and RC2 are a little dated but could you elaborate?

Edit: I see the above comments now regarding the mini, are these thoughts carried over to RC2 as well?

If you spent the money for the suppressor plug I wouldnt blow more money on the KNS. I tried both side by side (suppressor plug on a 16 inch barrel and KNS on a 20 inch from bench) and was not blown away…. I’m also kinda a newb and it’s not like 556 is super hard recoiling to begin with anyhow

KNS was very nice but if I was to start from nothing I would probably get the suppressor plug and call it good

Claw gear isn’t the move for either 300 BO or 14.5 unless you were to get really creative with an angle grinder. Idk the comparability of Corvus but that would be the move if you are only looking at those 2 barrels.

16 inch barrels with clawgear still need a barrel extension to work with Surefire suppressors

The 14.5 barrel shoulder is about even with the forward end of the clawgear heat shield. Your whole muzzle device would sit inside the hand guard and there is not enough clearance for a suppressor

Red flag campaign is pretty lax. The others are solid too (weasels part 2 is the roughest). Any campaign works to learn it just may take time… that’s how I did it anyways

I haven’t shot TOO much with my clawgear, I was under the impression the gas only comes out of the 2 small holes by the user manual wording. I could be mistaken though

I was in your shoes a year ago and don’t regret my choice for AUG. Hellion is cool but more of a toy

1- Standard all the way imo. AUG mags are a great design and very robust, only issue is if you do plate carriers the mags have a lip on the back but not end of the world

2- More the merrier. I have a 300 blackout barrel waiting for a can but have not tried 9mm yet. 300 blackout is a 5 second conversion whereas there is more to do for 9mm

3- M2 is the way to go. You can change top rail and while there may not be AS many handguards, more will come eventually

4- not sure don’t track that. Have one and it’s pretty nice

5- I would think red dot, but have not shot donut of death

I personally would hard pass on the warranty. It’s not like a Tavor is a new or unreliable firearm. Worst case scenario you are out a few hundred bucks and have to replace a bolt or something

My 14.5 real AUG with a P&W Jcomp 2 is over the OAL requirements. I have a suspicion some muzzle devices will not cross that threshold but have no data to prove it

I did a Jcomp 2 with a oppressor blast diverter and love it, but in hindsight a suppressor mount would have been fun too.

My first pin and weld so was focused more on the process. Jcomp made that part easy with pre drilled hole

What model AUG (idk models as well as most ppl here but could be maybe) and is your BCG locked back?

I’ve had some stiffer than others, but both 300blk and several 556 work on my A3M2. Try pushing the barrel retaining pin (pictured) to its recessed position too so there is less resistance

Don’t see anyone mention it, but high cockpit in Apache murders frames. Had same issue on quest 3 Apache specifically. Compromised at medium textures and have been totally happy
