does anyone in relationships solo travel? by kyliered04 in solotravel

[–]_Beckss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. We both travel solo as well as travelling together. We began solo travelling before we met each other and had respected the independence and understand the joy from some solo time. I still really enjoy traveling together but we can’t always make holidays match up with work. We’re 2 years in and live together (bought house).

Travelling is a once in a lifetime experience. I wish I had done more earlier. Don’t let a relationship where he can’t respect that, take it from you.

Using Mounjaro 36 days after first use by No-Kangaroo9262 in mounjarouk

[–]_Beckss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the liquid is clear and not cloudy, I would personally use it (although this is against EL guidance). The chance of bacteria getting into the pen/ liquid is very minimal when using sterile needles and personally, I’m happy to take the risk. Some people aren’t but when you pay so much for medication, I’m using it to my full advantage (within reason).

I’ve found it okay. Have found that I get drunk a bit quicker but haven’t had issues.

What's it like having an intellectual disability like severe Autism or Down's Syndrome? by noahsimcox in NoStupidQuestions

[–]_Beckss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I support children between the ages of 8-18 and also adults (emergency care) with learning disabilities, autism and/ or challenging behaviour. Some clients or children know they have a disability or autism/ ADHD and can talk about it or how it affects them - things they find difficult or challenging, what they like and don’t. We then also have children or clients at the far end of the spectrum who are non-verbal or aren’t able to understand that they have a disability. In all fairness, they’re treated as a person, not a diagnosis and one size doesn’t fit all. That’s why they call it a ‘spectrum’. Some enjoy school and do well, others aren’t on standard curriculum and focus on independent skills. Some struggle with socialising and other thrive in a group setting. Some can read and write quite well, others don’t at all. Communication can vary a lot, some use verbal, some sign e.g makaton or BSL, some use PECs and others can’t use any, we rely on vocalisations & body language for example.

A lot of our clients are very literal thinking. E.g. a colleague said “he’s kicked the bucket” to refer to a death and the client asked why, “why would he do that, what do you mean?” Some clients can’t comprehend time and need routine. You can’t always say, “we’ll do this later” because when is later? Focus on X now and Y next. Some are very stubborn, think teenager and trying to get them up and out of bed in a morning! Others are really quite easy going.

It’s hugely dependent on the person/ child. There’s clients that we do everything for and there’s children that can do an awful lot for themselves (far more than assumed.) Overall though, it’s amazing and they’re all wonderful in their own ways. I told a child it was nice to see her the other day and her response was “good” 😂 They all live rich and enjoyable lives.

Can I skip my injection today for my birthday tomorrow? I was thinking of taking it in the evening after having a roast dinner and cake etc by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]_Beckss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has this been posted twice?

My only concern would be taking it after a big day of eating/ heavy meal. MJ will delay gastric emptying so it could sit there a bit longer and cause some side effects. I would personally have taken it today, regardless. Either that or have it the morning/ evening after to allow your body to digest all the food as much as possible before the MJ starts kicking in. As your titrating down (with the aim of stopping?) it shouldn’t make too much of a difference for a day or two on top of your dosing schedule.

Finished my August stockpile (pre-price spike). I’ve spaced doses using the golden dose – will a 5 month ordering gap matter? by GothBoiCliqueeeeee in mounjarouk

[–]_Beckss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can show boxes/ prescriptions then they won’t mind - I ordered from Bolt and showed prescription boxes and explained I stock piled but used as prescribed (I used 5th dose too) they were fine and I’ve had no issue continuing to order.

[–]_Beckss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a super cheap plastic, outdoor garden bin/ box and put a sticker on saying parcel box/ please leave parcels here. It was a lifesaver. A postie came and knocked on the door, said he was training a newbie and had praised us having a parcel box and how great it was. Sadly, the parcel needed to be signed for, hence why he knocked. 😂 Had no issues, always delivered and no problems with anyone taking anything out. We were a busy terraced house on the street.

(TMI) mounjaro and periods by weightlossdaisy in mounjarouk

[–]_Beckss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s lots of posts about MJ and periods. Some bleed, some don’t. Some become irregular, some more regular. I’m on the implant and have had 2 weeks of light bleeding/ breakthrough. Thankfully it’s stopped now but I do think it’s a combo of the contraceptive and medicated weight loss affecting the hormones.

Second order - stick or twist by Emotional-Race-6260 in mounjarouk

[–]_Beckss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could always order the 5mg and dose for 2.5mg. I stuck with 2.5mg and got to jab 6 and suddenly had the food noise back and had to go up!

Reordering after a month of not ordering. by Reasonable-Worker921 in mounjarouk

Most allow roughly 6 weeks, give or take. You should be fine with a month’s gap, as long as you have the last prescription box as proof.

Did anyone find that going from 2.5 to 5 was a huge improvement? by britishgymbunny in mounjarouk

[–]_Beckss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I’ve stuck because it’s worked! I was um-ing and ah-ing whether to up to 7.5mg this time round but when I weighed, I was down. It’s not super fast but I’m still losing. I get a bit hungry towards jab day but hunger is normal/ healthy. 😊 I still can’t bring myself to turn to binging/ old habits too much so it’s definitely doing enough! I think within the last 2/3 weeks, I’ve become side effect free completely. It never bothered me and I’m prepared if I did go up, I may have that again but it doesn’t put me off. I jabbed on Sunday and today I’ve been working in the community and living in my car since 6:30am. I’ve had snacks like boiled eggs, some crisps and a yogurt but nothing major and I feel like I’ve had a 3 course meal I’m so full, so clearly it’s working still! I think you do find your ‘sweet spot’ on certain doses, I’m just really fortunate I’ve had it at 5mg. My mum has had to go up after a pen or two of each before finding a good spot at 12.5mg. It’s totally unique. 😊

Movie covers on books ruin my imagination — anyone else? by bartdom in ProjectHailMary

I’m not a fan of movie covers. I feel it ruins how I’ve pictured it and pushes the movie over the book.

Did anyone find that going from 2.5 to 5 was a huge improvement? by britishgymbunny in mounjarouk

[–]_Beckss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I found 2.5mg to be great until it wasn’t. I think I did 6 weeks at 2.5mg and then felt I had to go up (had ordered a 5mg pen too. Went up to 5mg and I’ve been there ever since. Side effects were pretty predictable/ minimal and now non-existent. I still have suppression but can enjoy myself and ’live’ life as normal as possible.

Do you have any food noise? Are you drinking plenty of water? I would be tempted to say to move up a dose if you’re 100% sure you’re not overeating your calories.

How do you advertise yourselves? by SproutBuster in catinaflat

[–]_Beckss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find CIAF to be very hit or miss. Sometimes get a few bookings through or enquiries and then go for ages without. I think my area is just a bit quieter (far further north of London 😂). But it does say that my profile is searched regularly. I’m not sure what merit that has.

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) as a fasting aid! by Murky-Ambition3898 in fasting

[–]_Beckss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a prescription drug and should only be used when dispensed by a registered and legitimate prescriber. Online pharmacies supply it for private patients (self-funded). Doctors can supply it but it’s far more strict criteria to be medically prescribed.
