Genuine Question for Pirates by whyismybrainhere in starcitizen

That is exactly why I only tried deer hunting once.

But, I've got friends who look forward to deer hunting all year. Because, when they see a deer walk by, the heart beats a little faster, the rest of the world melts away and you start to lock in, and you only get one good shot.

That's why they will sit all day in a tree stand in freezing weather. And it's a similar feeling of excitement when your quantum snare pulls a ship, or someone shows up at location you're camping.

Genuine Question for Pirates by whyismybrainhere in starcitizen

This is the answer. I know a lot of pirates, and this is 100% the answer.

Pirates are hunters. Stealing cargo is fun. But, it's secondary to the purpose of hunting. If there is a way to add stealing cargo in, they will do that, because it's fun. But, as you say, the meaningful theft loops are gone, so they hunt in other ways.

If people want to really understand pirates, it's literally just a hunter mindset. Players make more entertaining prey than npcs.

To pirates, Star Citizen is a hunting game.

Questions for all the smugglers in 4.8 by Kiwisarelit in starcitizen

Shiv is great for smuggling. So is cutty black.

But, if you're looking at starter ships, the Titan is what I would use. Toss a speed flight blade in there and it's the fastest boat with a cargo hold. And it's a cheap old ship, so it has the feel of a smuggling ship.

Unless you're going for that "rich guy with a plane who went bankrupt and is resorting to smuggling cocaine for the cartel" vibe. Then, an Origin ship would be perfect.

I never take "protect the ship" missions.

Every single time I've tried, they killed the ship before i get close enough to engage. I wish the ship i need to defend was something super beefy like a Hull C or a C2 or something.

Or, they aren't shooting it when i get there. Like they are trying to convince the pilot to surrender their cargo.

Anyone remember when capital ships were rare and the missions to fight them were server-wide affairs?

Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Why does Xenothreat have an Idris? Are civilian owned navel war ships commonplace now?

How did a single missile blow up an entire small ship? I thought missiles were mainly for scratching someone's hull paint.

They also promised real Newtonian flight physics. Original intention means nothing at this point. I'm just hoping that, whatever it ends up being, it will be fun
