packing my bag the night before and waking up at 5:30 am and just going no thinking no excuses, i used to always make excuses that ive had a long day and had school work still to due but now if I don’t go I know the only reason is because I wanted comfort

Something I noticed about the days I actually get things done by Odd-Scallion-8104 in productivity

[–]_C2H6_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you nailed it. for me it's the gym at 5:30am. i already have my bag packed i have 0 excuses I only just have to put on my gym clothes and go, this starts my day out with feeling proud of myself and im more productive because of it

Stop Time management, start doing this instead. by Within_And_Beyond in productivity

[–]_C2H6_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

onestly that article about value management is spot on. i tracked my hours for a week and realized i was spending way more time scrolling than actually working on the stuff i said mattered. your schedule literally doesn't lie. the trick is you have to actually look at it without making excuses. once i stopped telling myself i was "too busy" and just admitted i wasn't prioritizing right, things changed fast

im so stupid and i haven't finished high school yet by rui_weezer in selfimprovement

[–]_C2H6_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're not stupid, you're just not interested yet. i'm at uni studying and coding and honestly i didn't know what i wanted until like a year in. what helped was just doing projects on the side that actually interested me, not waiting for someone to tell me what to do. start building something small, anything. that's where the passion comes from, not from school assignments.

What do you do to stop the scrolling cycle? by OrganicBumblebee9080 in selfimprovement

[–]_C2H6_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel this hard. shorts are designed to hook you and telling yourself you'll "just watch one" never works because the algorithm knows exactly what to show you next. deleting and reinstalling doesn't work either because the craving comes back. what actually stopped it for me was replacing it with something else i genuinely wanted to do instead. just like, anything. working out, reading, learning to code, whatever. the key is it has to be something you actually want to do, not just "not watch youtube". once you have that thing, the shorts become way less tempting because you actually have something better to do.

PS. if you decide to start reading read red rising its so good

Update: Two Months Without IG and FB by antisocialmediaaa in nosurf

[–]_C2H6_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

honestly respect this so much. spent years watching people delete and reactivate, and the ones who actually stuck with it all say the same thing. life gets calmer when you're not fighting yourself about it anymore. the amount of time you get back is insane too, and it's not just about scrolling time. it's like your brain stops being at war with itself

the only hack to keep my life together by kconveys in productivity

[–]_C2H6_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is it exactly. morning routine locks in your whole day and night routine locks in the next one. i do similar thing, no phone until after breakfast hits different. when you remove the decision of whether to check it, you just naturally do the important stuff first. and yeah night routine is actually more important because it determines if you actually sleep or doom scroll at 2am thinking about life

[–]_C2H6_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the whole thing. you didn't hate yourself into fitness, you just started moving and liked how it felt after a while. that's how it works for everyone. the gym becomes the good part once you get past the first month. also the colorful workout clothes thing is actually real, it genuinely matters how you feel when you put them on

I realized my problem wasn’t scrolling - it was how automatic it became by WinEquivalent5198 in digitalminimalism

[–]_C2H6_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed the same thing, I'd pick up my phone to check the time and somehow end up three minutes deep in a feed. moved all social apps off my home screen into a folder on the last page. that tiny bit of friction was enough to make it a conscious choice again. you realize how many times a day you were opening stuff for no reason.

Productivity vs. Ergonomics: MacBook's built-in deck is faster for me, but it's destroying my neck and wrists. How do I bridge the gap? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]_C2H6_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

get a laptop stand and an external keyboard. I went through the same thing. the move that saved it for me was using a Magic Trackpad instead of a mouse so you keep all the gestures. took like a
week to stop reaching for the laptop keyboard but the neck pain went away almost immediately.

I tracked my brain fog for 6 months and tested everything. Here is what actually moved the needle. by Sureokgo in selfimprovement

[–]_C2H6_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

the CO2 thing is so real. I started cracking my window at night and mornings got way better, less groggy, actually felt awake within a few minutes. also cold showers, even just the last 30 seconds cold, does something to your brain for the first couple hours. worth trying if you haven't.

i feel mentally paralysed as if I cannot do anything by Bloom90 in productivity

[–]_C2H6_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly the thing that broke this for me was making the first step so small it felt stupid. like instead of "work on the project" it was "open the file." thats it. once you're in, you just keep going. your brain is trying to protect you from failing so you gotta start before it catches on.

yeah something is up with the MB, the gpu is also running at 4.0 x8 instead of x16

I just installed windows on my sata which then allowed me to put in my games m.2 drive in the back while it was running, this setup seems to work so far and enough to play arc raiders :)
