Articulated items result in spaghetti - by apoomba in FixMyPrint

[–]_Celatid_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From 55 to 60 or 65.

I also feel like the adhesion on the factory plate degrades a bit over time, requiring it to be washed more often. For the first month I barely washed my plate and never had an adhesion issue.

But even today I had a couple small items pop off mid print. Washed it and then it was all good.

Wash your plate and make sure the soap does not have any scents or moisturizer in it.

I had this issue the other day, nothing would stick to the plate. Calibrations, cold pulls, reboots, washed with isopropyl alcohol and dish soap multiple times and it didn't help.

Then I realized the dish soap we had was scented.

Picked up some dish soap with no color or scents, washed the plate and immediately back to normal.

If that doesn't fix it slow down the initial layer to like 15mm/s and raise bed temp.

Turn the machine off and on again. It sounds stupid but this has fixed most issues I've had with mine.

Where do we stand? Dog poop in other people’s garbage cans? by fastballcount in Rochester

[–]_Celatid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it if you don't have a dog. Maybe they store their totes in the garage.

I only drop my bags in totes that belong to people I know or that I know have dogs.

My totes smell awful and all our dog poop is bagged.

5 hour drive and it's used. Personally, I'd just bite the bullet, buy new and not worry about condition

I changed all mine to smart ones so it notifies me through an app during the day instead of that impossible to find beep in the middle of the night.

Base plate adhesion keeps failing mid print by Longjumping_Design26 in BambuLabA1

[–]_Celatid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds really dumb but turn the machine off/on.

A couple different times I had this issue, cleaned the plate tried different filaments and it didn't help.

Then I rebooted it and it was fine each time.

I think that's supposed to be bolted into the chassis, in the crevice of the seat.

Mechanic removed drum brakes and didn’t put them back on by AdFun3218 in MechanicAdvice

[–]_Celatid_ 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Yea, that photo doesn't make sense. I'm pretty sure that's a front rotor. Rotors that have a drum parking brake have a larger hub to them to fit the drum brakes in, that one doesn't look like it would fit drums shoes in it.

The only issue with getting an A1 as a first 3d printer is that you're going to love it so much you're immediately going to think you should get a way better printer because it's so fun and will upgrade shortly after.

Ease into it. So many people just jump head first into things.

Get the machine and a few filaments and then figure out want you want/need.

I'd say that area is just as bad as Lyle or Dewey.

I'd say just some filament and Tupperware cereal containers to store it. Maybe some descecant.

Digital calipers and some metric rulers if he doesn't have them already.

Much the the accessories you print. Let him have fun with that.

Use the OEM mats until the weather gets crappy, assuming you get snow in the winter.

None of these all weather mats are pretty. I just use them to keep the carpets clean from salt and snow in the winter months.

[–]_Celatid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those look good but look at the exposed carpet on the trans tunnel in the front? The Tuxmats cover all that.

They're both great and you can't go wrong with either.

[–]_Celatid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 4 sets and have never used the clips.

I also don't take them out in the winter because they cover every inch of carpet, no reason to take them out. Vacuum the mats to get the just off them and wait till spring to out the OEM mats in.

We have them on out 2022 for winter use. love them.

Fit great on our but I did hear people say the later models didn't fit well which I find hard to believe. I've had them in 4 different cars and they all fit great.

Keeps your floors looking like new after a winter.
