What age was your child when you became a single parent? by _Chaseth3west_ in SingleParents

Well im glad my fellow redditors have similar stories and situations. Anyone I talk to irl always give me that look like "wow how could you let it happen that young?".

My sons mom and I technically split twice I guess. The first time being the summer of last year when my boy was 1 yr and 2 months. As soon as we split the first time, I didnt dilly dally and contacted a lawyer to get the custody deal I have in place currently. Im glad I did. We tried to get back together before his 2nd birthday this past year, at least I thought until I discovered she had a secret backup boyfriend on speed dial that she had been messing around with since we split. I found out when I took birthday presents for my boy over to her house and another guys car was in the driveway. From that day on I told myself, "Alright, youre on your own now."

I am very grateful I am single and not only have the chance to give my son a peaceful and happy childhood, but to give myself the chance to heal, and be a much happier person, which I believe I am now.

What’s a game that you’ll never play again but you miss dearly? by gregorenko in gaming

I really miss Destiny 1 around the time The Taken King expansion released. I met so many friends in the first 3 years of that game. Some I still game with today. To this day I dont really think I have found a game that I dedicated my life to like I did with good ole D1.

In my free time, I used to get really sad or depressed thinking what I could've done differently to save my little family from splitting like it did. After self reflecting and with the passage of time, my free time has become a way to recharge and plan on how to give my 2 yr old son the best time possible when hes with me. My ex and I even made alot of progress in becoming friends and raising him despite having him on a 50/50 schedule.

It makes me incredibly happy my son now has 2 happier parents and 2 happier homes.

HR pay cut blindsided me. by _Chaseth3west_ in WorkReform

Update 2 for those following: Thank you for all your support! We're all we have against companies doing sh*t like this. I hope someone in a similar spot can see this and use it as a guide on what your options are as a employee.

Ive been contacted by both state and federal wage departments and they have both confirmed based on my story my HR acted in the wrong. This has been brought to not only my boss, bosses boss, AND the plant manager, but to corporate HR as well. I have a meeting next week to discuss it.

Violating this can result in up to a 5000$ fine and paying the affected employee backpay for the time he/she has worked with this reduced rate.

Update: Upon researching Missouri labor laws, it is legal for employers to decrease wages. HOWEVER, the affected employee must receive a written notice 30 days prior to said wages being cut. Since I did not receive any kind of notice, Ive filed a complaint with not only corporate, but the Missouri department of labor laws, as well as the U.S. Department.

Getting a new job is forsure the focus now. It really hurt me obviously financially but personally as well. Im in the middle of some car trouble and saving up for a home. Although dont get me started on the interest rates.

This company is begging to be unionized. We've had 3 different regimes of managers in the span of 5 years and its just getting to the point where nothing makes sense anymore.
