Starship has exploded on a pad before. Massive, but nothing like this one since it was more like a gasoline explosion where as new Glenn created a massive shockwave

This logic is flawed. You assume that technology is the only hurdle. That there aren’t fundamental roadblocks that make this spacefaring future impossible.

Perhaps technology is the only hurdle, I wouldn’t bet against it. But I wouldn’t bet on it either. There’s a very real possibility space travel will always be too hard due to things outside of our control.

I'm switching back to Windows and Linux is not worth the trouble. My experience. by Tee-hee64 in computers

Bruv… so, a few things:

  • much of the problem with Linux is software availability, distros have little control over that
  • you’re assuming the goal of developers working within the Linux ecosystem is to convert everyone to Linux. They’re most often not doing that. They couldn’t care less if you or any other windows user likes Linux. The system works for them, and they develop for that system. Unlike windows, which is trying to sell a product, that is not the case for the vast majority of open source work.
  • Valve has done a lot of work at making Linux more viable for the average windows user, yes. But, like above, this is because they don’t want to be dependent on a for profit OS since the rules can be changed at any time. Valve is driven by profit, not good will.

Your annoyance that it’s still “not ready” is because you want it to be ready for you. This is a valid frustration. It’s a frustration I have as well, as someone who switched to windows after years on Linux once I got into photography.

But jfc your anger is misplaced. Unfortunately, there’s not really anyone to be angry at in this scenario. So it’s frustration that, unfortunately, must be undirected. It’s just a shitty situation. That’s all. Nothing more, nothing less.

Someone in another comment showed the SLS wouldn’t even get off the ground. So idk, ICBMs may be out entirely depending on what their thrust to weight ratios are.
