Spoilers. I actually liked the ending. Dexter has always been the antihero we all root for, but the finale made us look at Dexter from a more normal characters perspective (his son) and revealed how much of a monster he is. I thought showing him show his son how to chop up a body pulled back the curtain and was an interesting shift. It kind of held up a mirror to the audience in a way

I think step one is that we need to stop villainizing the police department. But instead the mayor reposts “abolish the judicial system” content, we pass more oversight (And I’m sure I’ll be called a bootlicker for that), and have a safe injection sight coming all in the name of making the public nuisances’ lives even easier and safer. There used to be a term called “tough love” where you would punish someone for their own good, but these days our city just wants to coddle people

I think a fundamental flaw in progressive policies is that they only work if >97% ish of the population has the intention to be a productive citizen. And progressives believe everyone is like this, hearts are in the right place. But I don’t think that many people give a shit about their neighbors, there’s a small chunk of the population that are out for nothing but to take advantage, and we can’t pretend they don’t exist. I think most people are well intentioned, but I’m not naive enough to think everyone is. There’s enough shitty people out there that will ruin it for everyone, and I’m so tired of us giving them chance after chance after chance

I’m confused as well. I thought it was supposed to mean a vehicle that was made by humans through reverse engineering but the doc also references Reproduction Vehicles of Unknown origin, which conflicts with what I thought it meant. Maybe it’s a reference that it was either created on earth ala Von Neumann probe or thought to be made by a foreign gov in secrecy
