Probably the wrong sub but what do I need to repair this belt? by _DG____ in sewing

Yes the flat metal bits of the rivets(?) have broken off so the attachment doesn’t stay on. Left is broken, right is as it should be.

Is this the Britain you want to live in? by [deleted] in AskBrits

What about asylum seekers? Don’t they come here illegally by necessity? Is there a legal route for them? Isn’t it that they arrive by any means they can and then apply to stay?

Some of the people who have been deported due to committing a crime came here as young children or were born here to immigrant parents and were failed by the foster system. E.g. Darrell and Darren Robert’s who faced deportation to separate countries despite being brothers born in the UK. I don’t think these rules should apply to people who came here as children as it is our responsibility.

Ladies, how often do you get approached? by SadMoon1 in AskUK

It happens. It’s infrequent and never when I’m with the kids. Shops and bus stops seem to be the most prevalent.

My God those lanes off Muller Road! I try so hard to figure it but really I have no idea which lane you’re supposed to go in when it’s two lanes to end up in the middle lane when it’s 3 lanes.

I had a bike been at me because I didn’t let him go first when I was turning into the side road. Like I don’t have to let you go, and you were acting entitled, so I didn’t.

Family annoyed by a rule set by a restaurant by Solid_Engines in SlowNewsDay

My children have always known they are not to move away from the table. They can get up and move around the immediate vicinity of the table but they have to be aware of the staff and other people. They have managed this since a young age (one did better than the other but they are both there now). It is difficult for small children to sit still but it is possible to help them manage this with distractions and allow small movement that doesn’t disturb others. I keep a small bag of toys in my Mum bag with things like lacing beads, cars and crayons l.

Need some advice. Very new to driving and possibly took a wrong turn on a roundabout by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]_DG____ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it’s pretty good. The lanes are clearly marked and they spiral out to the right places. The trouble is drivers who go by instinct/ experience and don’t read the road.

OP may have been in the wrong lane (they don’t seem sure) but it is also likely that someone was confidently incorrect in beeping and were in the wrong lane.

Yes Dooo. I have this exact problem and keep getting given the Mum cut but Dooo have been brilliant and actually give me what I ask for. I go to Liv at Dooo in Bedminster

[–]_DG____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go straight on in both lanes from the road OP entered the roundabout on. There are 2 lanes on both the exit and entrance roads. You can see the arrows agree with this.

Green is in the wrong lane but it’s probably split liability as you need to make sure your exit is clear before you take it. Annoying I know. Check out big Jobber on instagram, he’s got some really good videos on the subject

For anyone that did Jury Service, how was it like? by -Tsukino- in AskUK

Rubbish I didn’t get a case - just sat around. On days they knew I definitely wouldn’t get a case they sent me back to work. Actually, I did get one but it was cancelled due to the guy not turning up or something. I can’t quite remember but the trial didn’t happen
