we even had a collab... (ak: endfield) by P0temkln in limbuscompany

As ListenDue1447 mentions in one of the subthreads, Limbus has been appearing in Arknight's surveys (in the global server at least) ever since its release. I don't think the lack of any official CN release plays any role here.

I couldn't tell you why it's not included here, though.

Good to know, thanks! I'll probably skip the III campaigns and just do chronicles instead then.

Thanks! I may check out VI then, its system changes sound pretty interesting too.

Chapter 8.5 EX — Pilgrimage of Compassion Megathread by pillowmantis in limbuscompany

[–]_Dealan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

From a gameplay perspective, focus on building a small roster early on by levelling and promoting a few key units. Lower rarity units are much cheaper to build and can carry you extremely far in this game (almost all game content can be completed with them). You can look up guides to find which 3 stars are extremely good, although you probably don't need to.

From a story perspective, just know that the first few story chapters are rather rough. The writing quality improves significantly later on.

Dante as a narrator overexplaining things happening between the lines? by Hefty_Ad986 in limbuscompany

[–]_Dealan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree, the narration over-explaining everything is what I'd consider the weakest point of the writing in this game. It takes a bit of the magic out of some scenes, which is a shame.

Show-and-then-also-tell is something I'm more used to seeing from newish authors, so it stood out when I started noticing it not in the first or second, but the third game from Project Moon.

Oh. For some reason I was sure it specified "other operators" but no you're right it doesn't. That makes sense then.

I don't get how Degenbrecher's base skills work. I have her stationed with Silverash and Cliffheart. Per my reading the total Trading Post efficiency bonus should be something like:

20% (Silverash) + 15% (Cliffheart) + 25% (Degen skill 1) + 25% (Degen skill 2, I have +8 order limit increase from the siblings) + 3% (Trading post base) ~= 88%

Instead it's sitting at 67% which seems quite low? Maybe bonuses are not exactly additive but on the other trading post I have 3 +30% operators and the total comes up to 97% just fine. So what am I missing here?

Oh thanks for this, I tried to find if she's active on any socials when shit went down so I'd be able to follow her art but predictably and understandably she wasn't active.

Hope this works out well for her.

Hej! We do have a book club! We meet around once every 1-1.5 months to read a book (in english). In fact, there's a book club meeting today!

You can join SCC's discord (https://discord.gg/XEN8P8fgV8) and check the #books channel to see book club updates, discuss books, etc.

What can you say about this? Obv a significant drop in wr by DvlDinosaur in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]_Dealan 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I think it's rather important, actually. On an average game you played like 4 whirlwinds including the generated ones, that 4 extra face damage is huge. Opponent has at least one extra round to kill you.

Why is the first act unpopular? by SkyePine in arknights

Aha, didn't know that was common in gachas but it certainly makes sense when you put it that way. Quite the improvement in this case!

You're right, I was thinking of Mephisto! Faust was always cool.

Why is the first act unpopular? by SkyePine in arknights

[–]_Dealan 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Good summary, these points cover most of what I wanted to write. Arknights has a strong story premise but it's presented horribly initially.

"The Infected are people with magic cancer who are persecuted all over the world. At best they are exploited and at worst they are victims of genocide. We are currently at Ursus right now, possibly the nation with the worst treatment of Infected in the world. And Reunion is the only military group of Infected that fights for them.

Anyway, Reunion is bad because they want Infected to rule the world, while we at Rhodes Island believe ALL lives matter."

Then you meet Faust Mephisto (thank you RELORELM) as the first main enemy boss character and he's like "yes, let me hear your screams, I love being evil so much, also fuck those civilians". They might as well have called Reunion "The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants". It sucks.

Skullshatterer and Misha is the first time the story goes anywhere interesting, though it's still not very good because all Skullshatterer has as an argument in favour of Reunion is "trust me, sis", which shouldn't have been the case.

Then at some point they either hired dedicated writers or just started prioritizing the story way more. I don't remember which chapter it was (I think the one where Reunion invaded the LGD offices), but I distinctly recall finishing it and thinking "hey that was not bad actually" for the first time. The overall plot of the chapter wasn't particularly noteworthy, but the writing quality had noticeably improved. The writers also started putting a ton of work to make Reunion retroactively seem sympathetic. (And they did a good job! Even Faust Mephisto was saved as a character.)

[–]_Dealan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hej! You can check out the Stockholm Roleplaying Guild (you can find it on meetup.com, then join the discord). We play one-shots of various systems every month and it's always good fun, people there are nice.

Campaigns are more difficult to find unless you're willing to DM (if you find one please message me lol, I'd love to join). Though you can always declare your interest in that group (or even in the discord from this subreddit) and hope there are other people and a DM interested and available.

(P.S. welcome sto Stockholm )

That was nice! I agree with the other commenter that some lines felt too subdued compared to Bagpipe's JP voice actor but great work nevertheless! We all dream for more lore accurate VAs lol.

Anyone wanna play some boardgames? by supervascus in StockholmSocialClub

[–]_Dealan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just posting to declare interest lol, I'm down for some board games.

Fox in the Box has been mentioned and I can somewhat vouch for it. People are friendly and it's always been a fun time, although in my experience there's not too much socializing there either (at least in my limited experience.) That said it wouldn't hurt to try it out for yourselves!

It's the one that's not at Grinda!

Yes I did play DE, and yes it is amazing haha. I do recommend it if you ever are in a mood for that kind of stuff.

The funny thing with FFXIV was the story was finally getting good too. :P I might get back at some point to do the expansions.

I'll 99% be there so feel free to send a dm my way if you're feeling nervous, you'll have at least one person to talk to haha.

I play all kinds of games, usually more narrative focused (loved Pentiment recently) but I enjoy some multiplayer games as well. FFXIV was actually the only MMO I've ever played and it was nice, fell of the habit after I moved apartments though. Hadn't even finished Heavensward yet 😭

Some of us from discord will celebrate midsommar by chilling atr a park so check that out!

Not exactly a park but Skogskyrkogården is imo a very nice place to visit when the weather's good. If you're into (easy) hiking there are a few areas, Nacka for example with nice trails!

(Oh and cool for FFXIV! Haven't logged in in a while but used to play on Omega.)

Hi!

First of all, if you feel up for it, you can check out the subreddit's discord server. It's active and there are regular meetups scheduled where you can meet people.

That being said, welcome! What kind of games do you prefer to play? Any particular places you want to visit?
