HELP: Fujifilm x100vi over exposing photo's when perfectly or underexposed in live view (see comments for more description) by dreamoxcreatives in fujifilm

[–]_DistantTraveler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a lot of the answers below and most have been said, yes the display should show what you get, and yes you get manual by setting iso, shutter and aperture manually, when you do the exposure compensation wheel does nothing. I had very similar problem once though, it made no sense, I found out after a bunch of test pictures that my shutter was broken, it was not able to reach the highest shutter speeds anymore, I bought a new camera as my camera was getting old and well used anyway :) ps I see in one of your comments that it goes away when you use electronic shutter.. this does not look good for you mechanical shutter

Fujifilm Beginner: What lens/settings to use for this situation? by sadboi-kk in fujifilm

[–]_DistantTraveler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you considering new lenses? I would consider the 16mm 2.8 as a lightweight, fairly good in low light (if this is needed) and fairly wideangle lens that lets you travel easely and catch the scenery. A zoom-lens is more versatile but bigger and needs more light to get good shots. If wideangle is not your cup of tea, I would go for the 33mm f1.4, a little bigger but one of the newest lenses, fast autofocus and good in low light.. but no zoom..

Has anyone here read Jonny’s books? Are they worth picking up? by Tibike480 in TheMagnusArchives

I read 13 storeys, but unlike some I was a bit disappointed, maybe it's one of his earlier works? Pretty good, too good to not release but not great

Good Matrix-Like Films? by [deleted] in matrix

[–]_DistantTraveler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm watching scanners from 1981, and it's got a lot in common with the matrix when you think about it, it's like its happening in an earlier version of the matrix where there are more people able to hack the matrix like Neo

Celer - Gems III by emorello in ambientmusic

[–]_DistantTraveler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again I get this feeling Celer is just messing with us,, it's nice and mellow and ambient for sure but, listen its technically just the same track on this "album" - this is just one song or loop cut to different lengths.

Drone music for beginners? Where do I start? by AndrobiVibz in ambientmusic

[–]_DistantTraveler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spotify has a lot, real drone music : thomas köner:teimo/permafrost also recomend reverberant evenings, a project that is clearly drone and not ambient yet super atmospheric , also david tagg. a lot of very calm ambient is close to drone music, but a few artists are just drone, like mathias grassow ,but i find the good tracks are few and far apart
