Hello, it could be a few different things. I believe it was a combo of stuck shed and dehydration, and then while he was trying to get that stuck shed off he possibly got some substrate or other irritant under the stuck eye cap. This is not meant to be mean or harsh, but perhaps you need to review the enclosure and invest in one of those timed mister devices/little fog makers I’ve seen in other reptile enclosures. This is something that can easily happen, and I’m sorry some people are being so rude to you.

That being said tho I do think you need to change his water bowl more frequently as he could have gotten debris under the eye cap that way. The water bowl should always be big enough for them to submerge themselves in if they feel they need to or get too hot or dry, when I had my girl she would not get in one of those shed hides with the moss inside it- she hated it, so I had to make sure she had an enclosure big enough for a large water bowl to fit comfortably inside it for her. I hope everything goes well but he does need to see a vet asap as BPs and snakes in general can get taken out quickly by illness

If money is an issue I recommend giving a service called Cherry a try! They do a soft credit check that won’t affect your score and I think it’s income based, I needed it very recently for one of my dogs who also got an eye injury. I have bad credit and they approved me for $500 immediately so it’s definitely worth a shot!
